Reviews of Bluff Trail Montana De Oro
"Over a mile of just fantastic and pristine coastline! There are several points for beach access as well if you'd like to get in the water or see the tide pools. Lots of spur trails get you right to the edge of the cliffs for a great view, just be careful! Definitely the most popular trail in the park."
"Fun. Beautiful. Shear cliff views above the ocean surf. Brought our lunch and a little wine. Grabbed a bench on a point and felt the stress of the day to day melt away as we watched the waves roll in. The trails are wide and in good condition; suitable for little hikers, strollers and possibly even a wheelchair. There is a sprinkling of poison oak, so if you do bring little ones you’ll want to keep a sharp eye out even when away from the cliffs - included a photo to use as a teaching opportunity “Leaves of 3 let it be.” The park is an underutilized gem. Be sure to allocate half an hour to visit the Spooner Ranch House as well. The exterior belies the treasures it houses."
"Absolutely gorgeous. The trail is flat and easy to navigate. You could easily bring a wheelchair or a stroller with proper caution. The bluffs are just spectacular and not too far from the parking. If you're in Moro Bay don't pass up the opportunity to see this beauty. It wasn't very crowed and everyone was wearing their mask so that was a huge bonus."
"Easy hike, multiple routes so you can keep it short or explore. Beautiful beach, bluffs are amazing. Pristine blue waters with plenty of sea life off the coast. Saw otters, dolphins, California Condors. Tidepools are great for the kids during low tide, and plenty of lookout points overlooking the bay. The rock formations can be slick where seaweed is aplenty but relatively safe for the kids to observe snails, anemones, and crabs. Hikers and families were masked and socially distanced. Felt safe on the trail."
"By far the most amazing trail i have hiked, and i hiked a few. You will see things that will make you feel alive, connect and one with ocean and this amazing nature. Someone who wants to unplug and disconnect, this is the place to go. the trail does get busy on a weekend. Bring a jacket as it gets breezy and even cold at time, dress in layers, bring water and sunscreen, you will need them. Do not bring young kids, unless they can obey and stay away from the cliffs. Overall 10/10 hike experience"
