"Glue-in anchors could stand to be replaced at table scraps climbing crag."
"There are many trails that you can go on at this state park. Like many have mentioned, the parking lot is rather small and so it's best to arrive early. The parking lot can fill up and in that case, you will have to park farther down and walk to the trailhead. The earlier you start your hike, the more likely it wil be that you find parking, especially if you are going on a weekend. There are no bathrooms near the parking lot. There is also not a parking fee. We took the Table Rock Trail, which is about 4.4 miles total. It had amazing views. The trail has a rock labyrinth along the way that was fun to see. The trail is very rugged with lots of rocks the father you hike up this trail so come prepared with lots of water, hiking shoes, and dress in layers. The views from the top were amazing. There were areas with ice on the trail so be careful when hiking. There is a more popular trail to Mount Saint Helena that is very popular as well. We have not taken that trail yet, although plan to in the future. We will definitely be back at this state park and look forward to exploring the other trails."
"The park has some nice geology, scenery and wildflowers. Nothing extraordinary, but still worth at least a half day visit. The Labyrinth was really cool, and it was interesting to find an activity in Napa County, that wasn't wine related. However, the trails aren't very well marked. In fact, there are some that aren't marked at all. There is a sign at the parking lot saying not to venture off the trails, because of private property, but there are no signs indicating that you're about to enter private property. They really need to put more signs on the trails. There were a couple of occasions where we basically had to guess, and hope that we went the right direction. Also, I understand this park is undeveloped, but it wouldn't kill them to at least put a porta potty and trashcan at the parking lot."
"4 stars if you put the work in to reach the higher levels of Mnt Saint Helena for the wonderful views. Hiking begins right at the parking lot where the highway reaches the highest point of the pass. Very limited facilities so be prepared to pack out all trash you might create on your visit. The first mile of hiking is the steepest before reaching the fire-road to the mountain top. When you reach the road you are at the beginning of the excellent view points. While reaching the summit can be an excellent goal, relaxing with the views before returning down the mountain is also wonderful."
"Nice views. I agree with everyone saying it's a walk that should be done early in the morning or during cold weather. I started at 6:20 a.m. and on the way back (around 8) I was already warm. The only down side to that is that you don't get to see much, there was a lot of fog. But I still enjoyed it. Round trip was 2 hours 40 mins I did jog some on the way up and about 90% of the way back."
