"The employee at the counter in the Carmel Mountain location on July 4, 2023 didn't even acknowledge I was standing in front of her as she rang up my purchases. No eye contact, no thank you. Not one word or human interaction. I know she can speak because she talked to a woman behind me in line. Customer service is a zero. Only redemption is that I found what I was looking for."

"I called to check if they had earrings in stock because my son lost one of his earrings. I spoke to Mari and she was so rude. When I explain how my son lost his earring and I need to purchase replacement she said I need to go to the same location in mission valley I went to get my son’s piercings. The reason I called this place is because it’s closer to me. I previously called the manager at the mission valley store and was so nice and helpful she gave me the details of the earrings we had purchased so I knew what to get. She said she could put it on hold but I explained I live in Rancho Bernardo and was hoping to go to a closer location. The manager gave me a ticket number for the sku and when I mentioned that to Mari she said “we’ve been out of stock for that earring for a minute” I’m just going to take the trip and go to mission valley since I don’t even want to go to the Claire’s in Carmel Mountain because Mari was so very rude she didn’t even ask what earrings or sku number to know what I was looking for. I told her she was very rude and she said I’m sorry you took it that way and I hung up."

"Don't go here for a piercing. Just don't go. They use unsterile materials--a piercing gun, for baby. Those are the PINPOINT. It hurt to babies. It's a nice place, but don't get your piercing here."

"This review has both a review for piercings and professionalism as well as just the overall store, so if that's what you're looking for, look no further. Piercing: don't go here for a piercing. Just straight up don't. They use unsterile materials--a piercing gun, for Pete's sake; I mean, those are the PINPOINT, the KINGDOM of infectious bacteria and because they're super hard to clean. The people who do it are clearly not professionals, either, so keep that in mind. And Claires' earring jewelry and other piercing jewelry are made of cheapy materials, no matter what you get. I got an infection from there and had to be hospitalized and so has my sister, two times. Don't go here for the piercing, go somewhere where they use needles like your local tattoo shop. This part I give a one-star. Overall store: it's cute and has cute little knickknack jewelry for kids. Friendly people, friendly environment, a teeny bit expensive for my taste, but it's alright. I used to love it here because they have the cutest necklaces and charms. This part I give a four-star. So overall, it's a nice place, but don't get your piercing here. 3 stars."

"We took our daughter her to get her ears pierced for the first time. The employees were very helpful, they were informative about the piercing process and good with our daughter. They have all kinds of odds and ends besides earrings (nothing I would ever use/need). They have a lot of stuffed animals and earrings. Parking here can be a pain during busy times."
