Reviews of Depot Mall & Museum
"Cool little shopping plaza including a souvenir shop with t-shirts and lots of Fort Bragg swag, a baby clothing store, one of the coolest rock shops in the area with an exuberant inventory and a very knowledgeable staff, a handmade glass shop, a jewelry / watches / clocks shop, a smoke shop, a restaurant serving breakfast and lunch everyday, and a couple other souvenir and accessories shops. It has a public restroom, a few kiddie rides and arcade games for the kids, and the whole place is decorated with some really cool historical railroad displays, including two full size steam locomotives!"
"This is more of a mall than a museum. There are several local shops there that sell shirts and suvioners for Fort Bragg. The main attraction of the museum part is the old logging train Daisy. It is a restored steam engine that sits at the end of the mall walk. For those rock hounds out there, at the time of this posting in Dec 2022, there is a great rock and fossil shop in the mall. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable about the different rocks on display. One of the owners is also the one who dug up the fossils on display."
"Fun and fascinating shops highlight this historic building. Old train engines and very detailed explanations of the logging and railroad history of Ft Bragg. Also some neat shops and places to eat or have refreshments - while waiting for or after a ride on the Skunk Train. The architecture is fascinating."
"Great lunch stop for us, plenty of room for everyone, diverse menu ( I had clam chowder and London broil sandwich) salads, burgers, coffees & latte, good service too. Lots of parking out back and the skunk train is there too.(very expensive to ride but fun for the kids) we always have lunch there."
"Pretty cool collection of old steam engines. A lot of these were used during the redwood logging era. As you walk around and look at all the old railroad artifacts there’s plenty of places to shop. The restaurants here have a great spot for breakfast and lunch"
