Reviews of Trinity Alps Wilderness
"Although it's on fire now, this is a spectacular place. Just be sure to respect the wilderness! Follow campfire restrictions, Leave No Trace and, unlike some folks in the reviews, if you bring a dog, please have them leashed at all times as per Forest Service regulations."
"I first walked to Emerald Lake in 1973. Best hike ever. I will post some of the pictures at a later date. Sorry. Hear are some signs I posted on a Ponderosa tree on the Godey Creek Rec Site in Merritt BC Canada."
"Did the canyon creek lakes and camped over night. From there went to Mt Thompson and down into grizzly and back to canyon lakes. Hell of a journey. So much to see out there. Gods country. Make sure you have lots of water or drink from the creeks. Please pick up your trash ALWAYS! We ran into 3 different groups who had to leave early because bear got their food. Be smart! AND ALWAYS LEAVE NO TRACE."
"Trekked the 4 Lakes Loop with wife and dog, June 2020. Beautiful, yet challenging. Solid ascent for the first 7 miles or so. Lots of sun exposure once exiting the tree cover. Majestic alpine lakes and endless rocky ridge lines. We were able to catch a few patches of snow that hadn’t melted. A big relief to the overheating dog!"
"One of the greatest wilderness areas you will ever see, and if you multi day hike you can get gorgeous wilderness areas all to yourself. There are over 200 mountain lakes in this area, some get less than 10 visitors a year. If you go offtrail it is best to have two gps trackers in case one breaks or isn’t operational."
