"We spent New Years weekend at this house we were a total of 24 people, the space was awesome and allowed us all to have our own space, very spacious amazing host. Had a wonderful experience. The dining room had 3 tables it was perfect for hosting New Years eve dinner. The 2 kitchens was a very big plus especially since we had many cooks in our group. Absolutely loved this house. We will definitely return."
"I booked Que Syrah as a place for the entire wedding party to stay for the weekend of my son's wedding, originally planned for June 2020. Due to Covid, that event was cancelled, but Mike worked with me and I was able to transfer the exisiting reservation to the rescheduled date, which happened to fall on a holiday weekend. Additionally, the winery we had contracted with as the site of our rehearsal dinner cancelled, so with Mike's permission, we were able to hire caterers to come to Que Syrah and host the event there. It was so helpful that there were enough round tables and chairs on site for our number of guests. The rehearsal dinner was beautiful; the wedding party LOVED the accommodations, and everyone had a wonderful time! My thanks to Mike, Muna, Hugo, and whoever else I've forgotten to name who helped to make it all possible. It was a wonderful wedding weekend that we will never forget!"
"Really nice retreat house. The house has many spacious and beautiful rooms. Every morning, we woke up to see the hot air balloons flying. Would definitely come back!"
"This is the best place to stay with a big group! Mike and David are fantastic hosts and make sure all of your needs are taken care of. The house is huge and there is plenty of space to sleep a big group. We had 22 people and room to spare! I highly recommend Que Syrah."
"I stayed at Que Syrah for a weekend with my partner as we had seen some great reviews for the place. On the surface, this place look great, although it is a bit misleading. For starters, the title of the location is "Luxury Resort" but it had no amenities beyond basic toiletries and a hot tub in the back yard. It shows pictures of full breakfasts being served, when in actuality, the "host" places out store-bought muffins and a small bowl of sliced strawberries in the morning. There was also no option to have services scheduled by the one staff member that was there sporadically throughout the day, but rather we were in charge of making all accommodations ourselves. With respect to the room, there were several issues that should have been addressed. First, we had a queen-size bed with a heavy mattress (which was very comfortable) but which also sat on wooden slats. Almost every time we sat or moved on the bed the slats would pop out of place leaving one of us holding the mattress up while the other had to reposition the slats (happening approximately six times within two days). Second, the bathroom was nicely designed, but our sink continuously clogged and we had to end up removing the stopper during our stay. Perhaps the most disappointing component of our stay here was the interactions with other guests. We were placed into the only room on the first floor, which is also shared by the kitchen and common/living room area. As a result, other patrons would socialize or spend time in those common areas often until 1-2am in the morning, making it almost impossible for us to get to sleep. On both nights, I had to personally ask them to move their conversation elsewhere, as the doors to each room had no insulation and allowed sound to easily pass through them. Each time, they were more than accommodating, but I found it odd that I even had to do this, given that the host (who claimed that he left each night but did not) never took the initiative to enforce the 10pm quiet rule. It should be noted that this looks like one of the first bad reviews that Que Syrah has received, and for that, I will say that this might have been an isolated event and should be considered with caution. However, I also know that I am often that last person to voluntarily offer critical feedback, but felt compelled to do so when I was unable to comfortably relax in my room that I had paid $150/night for. If you are looking for an entire house to rent out for you and your friends, this is probably your best bet. However, if you are looking for a quick getaway where you can enjoy some relaxing privacy, this might not be the place for you."
