"*** PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING ROOMS *** My husband and I decided to stay at this resort for the first time to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Overall, the hotel itself is very nice, clean and charming. The service was pretty good overall as well. The ultimate downside to this was the specific room we booked didn't meet our expectations. We wanted our weekend to feel more romantic so we decided to splurge a little extra to get the "Coastal View Room". There was quite a few options on the hotel website to choose the specific view such as Resort, Pool, Partial Bay, Marina, and Coronado Bay view as well. "Coastal View" seemed to be the one with the best view / full view of the ocean (see attachment) because it was also considered to be the priciest room compared to the other views. Which is very fair. When we checked into our room, 7/8th of our view was pretty much of the resort... (attached photos) We ended up speaking with the manager and she was actually super great and gave us the option to switch our rooms the following day or get $100 credit per night. Since we were only staying a total of two nights, we felt like it was too much work to switch to another room so we stayed with what we had and just accepted the credit. The manager apologized and told us that the view is STILL considered "Coastal View" but it depended on what side of the building the room is located and the guests got some that weren't as open view based off of random selection. Even though she was very friendly with her explanation, it didn't make much sense to us... We didn't feel like it was a fair deal that we were paying for the cost of what was marketed on the site and not given a warning that views will be subjected to look differently to what was shown on the site. At least the room we were in should be categorized as "Partial Coastal View" so customers don't feel disappointed when they check-in."

"Lovely visit at Loews; the room was beautiful and had a lovely view. The staff was gracious and helpful. We were there for a convention, but even the convention areas, meals, and staffing were an absolute delight. They have shuttles to downtown for sight seeing, and it's a short walk under the road to the beach."

"This is a beautiful location with some of the most courteous staff you will find anywhere. We've been so used to poor service at places since COVID, and I want to commend Loews on keeping the bar set high. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, courteous, prompt, and willing to go above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. I think the hotel rooms and halls could use some minor updating (paint, carpet, etc), but the beds are comfortable and the location and the service easily makes up for it. The lobby and conference area is beautiful. Workout room has everything you would want. It was too cold to do any outside pool stuff, so I can't comment on that. But it looked good. Parking is easy. We would definitely return!"
