"Great customer service, friendly and very helpful. No appointment needed, just walk-in!"
"Today will be the second time we’ve come to the SDSU passport office for our two boys. 2 years ago we came here during Covid and the process was a bit different - come as early as you can to write your name on a waitlist and then either leave (with the potential of losing your place if you’re not back by the time they call your name) or stick around and make new best friends at picnic tables. We did this with a breast feeding newborn. Wasn’t optimal, but once we were in the office, everyone was super helpful and friendly and the appointment went smoothly. MAKE SURE YOU BRING CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS FOR THE AMOUNT NEEDED! And of course all of the necessary paperwork and IDs. The new process is A DREAM! Get on the website at 7 AM to get your name on the waitlist. It gives you an estimated wait time. Texts you a link where you can see the wait in real time and what number you are in line. Texts you when you’re 30 mins from your appointment time to let you know you should be heading to the office. Then asks you to submit whether you’re on your way, arrived, or not coming. I clicked the button when we were on our way and again as we arrived. My name was called the second we walked up and we walked right into the office for our appointment. For parking: we parked in parking structure 12 and for non permit holders, level 8. Take the north western elevator down to the second floor and make a right to walk up the hill. You do not walk out with a passport. This is simply the process to get one. Three options: regular, expedited (2-3 weeks on top of processing time), or super expedited (1-2 days on top of processing time). We were in and out in 20 minutes. Easy breezy. This is a no brainer if you’re in the SD area."
"This place was the only one accepting applications for first time passports without some awful online appointment system that’s fully booked, so I gave it a shot. Assuming you have everything you need, the process itself is quick. Make sure you have your money orders or checks ready, along with your real birth certificate. Waiting in line takes a little while, but at least you can leave and they alert you when your turn is coming up so you’re not stuck waiting there the whole day. I wish I got the woman’s name who helped me; she was very patient and professional."
"Love this place, the employees are so helpful. Don't forget to sign up for the digital line at 7 am. And don't forget to pay for parking via the QR code they enforce it even on Saturdays."
"We have use this location more than once on an early Saturday morning. It’s pretty great. We go to the walk-in hours, which starts early on Saturday. We tend to arrive about 6 AM with our beach chairs. The rest of the family can wait in the car in the parking garage while one sits in line to hold a spot. When the office opens, each person in line gets assigned a number with an estimated wait time - and you can receive text messages keeping you informed of your wait time. Because we arrive early we are usually out of there within an hour after opening. Some of the problems we noticed is people don’t have their paperwork completed correctly. I remember needing to bring 1 or 2 checks - so I went to my bank for a couple of temporary checks. Part of the fees cannot be paid by card. (Ugh). We did our photos at FedEx Kinko’s but they do offer a photo services there. We have watched people arrive just after the office opened, and they are told that they are full for the day. Also, you have to pay for parking in the garage - you do so with an app & your phone. instructions are on the outside of the garage."
