"Possibly the most unusual find on our second day of touring the museums of Balboa Park, the Museum of Us featured three distinct areas of particular interest. One smaller section dealt with the progression of man through the ages, in terms of the psychology that went along with many challenges we had - an example being how shipwreck survivors, asea on a raft would choose which of their members to kill and eat. On the lighter side, there is a neat little area dedicated to... Beer! This includes linguistics and a fine collection of historical growlers (as in ceramics). There was also a sizeable exhibit of Mayan Stelle."
"Came here with my wife and mom on a Saturday. Admission included entry into the Cannibals exhibit across from the Museum of Us entrance, and annual membership so you can come back for free. We walked both the main and Cannibals exhibit side checking and taking in almost everything on display. The main has two floors to explore with plenty of information and displays. The Cannibals exhibit had some displays that were interactive and fun. There are bathrooms and places to sit for a quick break. I would come back again to see and redo things. I recommend planning to spend at least 2.5 hours for both sides. I purchased tickets in advance, which I recommend. We did not do it, but you can also climb the California Tower from here, but it is extra cost and requires timed-entry. Public parking is available throughout Balboa Park, but nothing directly on-site. Expect at least a 5 minute walk to get here."
"The Museum of US is a fascinating Museum that seems to focus on the anthropology of humanity and race. It’s a museum in Balboa off the main drag that can take you from one to two hours to enjoy. If you want to climb the tower I suggest you buy first thing when they open as I arrived around noon and they were sold out for the day."
"Balboa park is my favourite walking spot and the nearby trails are pretty cool. Museum of US located cross the street of Balboa park. Tickets are bit costly. Nice place to roam."
"My visit to the Museum of Us in San Diego was a captivating experience. The museum's diverse exhibits exploring anthropology, culture, and the human experience were both educational and thought-provoking. The architecture of the building itself is stunning. The highlight for me was learning about different cultures from around the world and their unique traditions. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing the overall visit. I highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in exploring the rich tapestry of human culture and history."
