"Lovely intimate theater in Downtown San Diego, adjacent to Horton Plaza. We came to see Josh Gates LIVE! Perfect venue for this event. Save time and park in the Horton Plaza parking garage. The theater offers validation stickers for that lot. The theater lobby was a tight squeeze accommodating the entry/exit, 2 bars, restroom access, and merchandise stand. Bar prices were what you'd expect for a venue. $$. Great variety though. Restrooms were down a flight of stairs, although I do believe ADA restrooms were accessible via the main floor at a separate entrance."

"The balboa is a beautiful theater in the heart of Downtown San Diego. There is a decent amount of street parking in the area but we opted for the paid garage parking around the corner. The theater staff helps usher people in through security and into the main areas very quickly. There are bathroom s and concessions on both floors which is convenient. The theater interior is beautiful , with art deco walls and an intricate ceiling. The seats are a little cramped together, but that’s just the style of the theater I guess. A really great gem in SD."

"Balboa Theater is located downtown in San Diego. Street parkings are hard to find but we got lucky and found one directly across from the theater. We came here for the Nutcracker Ballet. This theater has a lot charms with classy personality. There were no bad seats in this theater. Ushers were very efficient and competent. There was a snack bar to fill up with drinks and snacks. No food allowed in the theater. We enjoyed the Nutcracker Ballet show tremendously and liked the intimate venue at the Balboa Theater."

"Okay this was our first time to this venue in San diego! We live in Los Angeles area and we came down here for a Lila Downs concert! The venue is very very classic and capacity is 1100. Just about every seat is a good seat even the balcony seats where we are at! There is ample parking at a garage less than a quarter mile away for $10! They also have a bar with drink and some light snacks available! I think be back to this menu in the future! Overall a very pleasant experience!"
