"Great shop, amazing artists and even better service. I’m pretty much covered head to toe, but my first 5-6 tattoos were from other shops throughout Sacramento and California . Not here to bash the other shops, but I would say it was your typical tattoo shop experience where they are eager to take your money but aren’t too keen to offer any advice on what works best. Fast forward to finding Imperious Rex, and the experience here is nothing but 5 Stars. I had the pleasure of working with Jesso. I went in and told her my vision of a chest and stomach piece in order to tie some previous tattoos together, before I ended up looking like Riff Raff. She came up with a design, that encompassed what I wanted, but also explained how and why she had to change a few things, from placement, to size, and color. I had a scar on my stomach that needed to be careful of but she executed the tattoos flawlessly. She even convinced me to tattoo my nipples and belly button (ouch) but that was totally the right call for the composition of the tattoo. I’ve since become a lifetime client and have received other tattoos from her as well and will continue to work with her on covering the rest of my body. Remember people, first or last tattoo, your artist knows more than you, and part of their job is to tweak, make changes, and adjust things here and there while trying to make your vision of your tattoo come true. If you can’t handle that kind of consultation and change, go to different shop that will just take your money and get that subpar tattoo!"
