"Food was good, service was good. There wasn’t anything particular that stood out, it was just a great meal overall. They used iPad for ease of ordering, which was great, the food came out really quickly. Waiter was friendly and helpful, it would’ve been nicer if they focused a bit more on the atmosphere because it feels a bit less luxurious for the meal we’ve had. Definitely would recommend this place if you’re looking for a friend night out Wished the vegetables have more variety. Meat was good and plentiful. Would recommend!"
"They are so kind and meat is good quality. 90 mins limitation and they serve ice cream for desert. The thing is that the price starts from 42 dollars for a person if you don't have a membership. I thought it started from 32 dollars. It turned out it is only for a membership."
"Straightforward shabushabu, order everything on your phone including the broth(s) and it’ll come to your table. Minimal interaction with the hosts, but quick service for the small menu they offer. They offer pretty decent quality meat, lots of mushrooms, and good dipping sauces. The karaage chicken was the best cooked dish they had, otherwise, the wagyu is good quality. The broth was good but nothing to write home about. The interior was good, spacious and doesn’t feel like you’re breathing into the next table. They turn down the lights for birthdays and for those who enjoy that, this is a good spot."
"For large parties looking for a private room: You MUST call ahead to reserve their unique, tatami-style dining room, which features 40 seats, 4 large tables, and a karaoke tablet that projects onto the wall. This is because you have to sign a contract and pay a deposit in order to reserve their super special private room. The contract includes details such as: 1. Non-refundable deposit of $200.00 which is applied towards your final bill 2. Minimum bill must reach $800.00 (before taxes and mandatory 20% tip) 3. Room rental fee of $5.00 per person 4. Room is reserved for 2 hours (Food/Drinks have a 1.5 hour time limit) 5. Wine corkage/Cake Fee: $15 each 6. Socks MUST be worn Overall, having your own karaoke room seemed better in retrospect. You're so busy eating there is barely enough time for singing. Half of that will be spent scrolling through artists because of the defective search function. Even the servers had a hard time. Food wise, there was nothing spectacular. I liked how the appetizers were also AYCE but the choice of meats/veggies seemed lacking. I didn't see a sauce station and the ones they provided us were not great. Ponzu, peanut, cilantro. Towards the end we wanted ice cream and pressed the "call" button several times but no one ever came. However the lady who took my reservation was very patient and helpful with the entire process. And although they were extremely busy, when the staff actually did check in, they were very polite and attentive. This was a good experience for my large group but I doubt I would return if I was just craving shabu."
"We came to Mokuku on a Saturday evening where there was no wait. Our party of 2 selected the AYCE option which costed a little bit over $40 per person. Appetizers: * Chicken Karage (4/5)- very crispy, juicy and bite sized. felt more like Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Very good. * Gyoza (3/5) - flavor was fairly standard, nothing special but also not bad * Mixed Tempura (3.5/5) - exterior had a good crisp but unfortunately did not have tempura sauce Soup base * sukiyaki (2.5/5) - flavor was quite bland and not sweet. * Tom yum (4.5/5) - quite good with a very mild spice. All the meats were quite good but I found the beef selections (wagyu specifically) paired much more nicely than the pork selections (didn’t try the lamb). Ordering process for a party of 2 was 4 meats and some other (vegetable + appetizer) trays per round. Rounds refresh every 10 minutes and all orders were placed on a tablet. Vanilla or matcha ice cream were offered as dessert options — the matcha was quite flavorful. Service was pretty quick."
