"A very neat little bit of history. Great walking trails, not to mention that a photographer was taking photos of 4 girls in string bikinis and cowboy boots. What a nice weekend adventure."
"Small but nice area to explore if you put your imagination to it. I loved it."
"Very interesting and historical park. It was nice to get a new Informationen about the pioneers living in California."
"Very interesting place with a lot of history. It looks like there's some hiking around the area too, but it was pretty rainy so we just walked around the houses."
"There's a little "ghost town" here parking is 5 dollars. I have parked at the gate before as well as payed to get up closer. Its maybe a half mile walk from the unlocked gate if you choose not to pay. From there you can follow along a nicely paved road about 3/4 mile where you'll come across Johnson Park, which looks like a little camping party area, though there's some history to this area that I've forgotten. Go about 1 mile further and see americas first and longest running commercial oil well. Right after that there is a big bend in the road that ends the paved section. From here is where you get the actual trail which goes about 3 miles up and through the mountains. At the top there is a weirdly placed bench and nothing else. There are a few good views of Santa Clarita, but a lot more views of the mountains toward the southwest. The trail kind of dwindles out after the bench and actually connects to Towsley canyon, but I took my bike and the trail was too steep and narrow to pull it up through there. It said somewhere that it is an 8 miles hike out and back, but it felt like a lot less. Overall a really nice park that doesn't get very crowded."
