"I’ve been tattooed by many tattoo artists here. They are all incredible, professional and I highly recommend them to all of my friends. Recently got a great tattoo from De, she was great and I absolutely love my tattoo from her. She re-worked her design to perfectly fit me and I appreciate that."
"Brought my father in law in for a 65th birthday tattoo! Chapter one tattoo shop took amazing care of us and saw us within an hour of contacting them! Tiff was so patient and amazing!"
"Chapter One is one of the best shops you could ever walk into. The modern atmosphere and clean environment make the first impression impeccable and the whole experience a memorable one. Yvonne was amazing. So easy to work with, captured my vision better than I could, and produced a design that came out 100x better than what I had pictured in my head. Every detail mattered to her and she made sure every square inch was perfect. I will never go to another artist without giving first dibs to Yvonne. On top of that, and more importantly, she is an incredible person. So cool, genuine and just good vibes. You know good people when you meet them and it made the 8 hours of tattooing that much better."
"There aren’t enough words to describe how happy I am with the tattoo and the overall experience. The moment I walked into the shop I felt welcomed and comfortable, the shop is clean and everyone up front gives you a warm welcome to start the process. I can’t thank Gary enough for designing my new favorite tattoo. He took my idea and turned it into something so beautiful and beyond what I had imagined. He fixed an old tattoo that had sentimental value and saved it, rather than doing a cover-up which I am thrilled about. I was nervous coming in, but about 30 minutes in I was really able to relax. Took about 4 hours but the time went by quickly, I was never in any pain or discomfort and we took little breaks to stretch and reset along the way. Getting a tattoo can be intimidating, but this shop is the opposite of pretentious… everyone I met was humble, down-to-earth, super polite and welcoming. I will be returning to Gary and this shop for future tattoos, as well as referring them as a credible place to go. Cant say enough good things about my experience. Thanks again so much!!"
"There are few instances in my life where I have paid for something and walked away feeling like I should have paid more. This is one of those instances. I am at an absolute loss for words when it comes to how pleased I am with the end result of this tattoo. I grew up in SD and moved to Tennessee almost 7 years ago. I spent a LOT of time with my Grandfather in San Diego and he was incredibly special to me. He passed in 2020 from Alzheimer’s. I have missed him everyday since. When I started my journey to find an artist, I reached out to a few people/places and only received a handful of responses back. Cash and his team was one of those responses. After an initial phone consult, I was ready to commit to Cash as my artist. Even over the phone I could feel that he genuinely cared. He listened to me tell my story and showed compassion and empathy while I choked back tears while trying to talk about my Grandfather. I submitted my deposit and had an appointment scheduled for almost 2 years out. It was a long wait, but it was more than worth it. As my appointment reached the 2 week mark, I started having a small panic attack. After our first initial phone consult, I had not talked to Cash. Living in Tennessee really limited the opportunity for us to connect. However, I reached out and Chris was more than helpful in accommodating my request to have a follow up consult with Cash. I think Cash knew that I was having some anxiety and was really patient with me while I basically rattled off all of my concerns. It reassured my feelings from our first conversation, from over a year prior, that this is the artist I want and trust. This is/was my first tattoo. To say the least, I was a nervous wreck walking into that tattoo shop. My anxiety-ridden brain was going crazy. Cash came out from the back wearing a huge smile and threw up a Shaka as he approached me in the front of the store. He carries himself with the confidence you would expect from one of the best in the world. But it was his calming presence that drove the nail home for me. I immediately felt at peace with my decision and my anxiety quickly turned to excitement. We spent a little over the next 8 hours together. And in that time, I witnessed a true master of their craft. It is something I will never forget. The experience from start to end was world class. I cannot say enough good things about Cash Scott. My Grandfather was a special breed and touched the lives of a lot of people. He retired as Master Chief from the SEALS after deploying to Vietnam and serving his country in more ways than one. He was cherished by his family and left an unfillable hole in all of our hearts. Cash has, in a way, brought my Grandfather back to life for me. His work moved me to tears. I am so honored to be able to carry my Grandfather with me for the rest of my life. This portrait will forever be a PERFECT reminder of who I strive to be. I will cherish this piece of art forever. The only thing I regret is not having more money to give Cash as a token of my appreciation. Cash, I am beyond grateful for the hours you invested in this project for me. I look forward to working with you again. Thank you so very much for this."
