"We went in the month of January, hardly there were 2 roses. Maybe during summer there would be many flowers. Overall it's a wonderful place to sit and chat, enjoy the climate and enjoy the scenic nature."
"It's a very beautiful place to spend some quality time. You will find the entire garden filled with varieties of roses, although less in the summer. It is a very calm place located at the North side of UC Berkeley. You will also find the tennis court close to it. After spending some time here, you will definitely feel peaceful from inside. Strongly recommended."
"When the roses are in bloom, I have no idea where you’d go to find a better selection of roses. There are literally dozens of different varieties spread out over multiple terraces. From the top of the garden you also have a view of the bay and San Francisco. Definitely recommend a visit."
"Fantastic drive to reach beautiful views. The garden itself is amazing with its diverse rose bushes and other plants. There are certainly better times of the year to catch the best views or see the blooms so be sure to check if you want to catch something in particular. On the days we visited in July, neither were fantastic, but it was a bright day and the gardens many paths and bridges made for great photos. Afterwards, we went thru the tunnel to visit the park across the street. Here again, the concrete slide and small playground entertained us before a short hike through the woods. We did find an open air bathroom (i.e. no door) in the park, which was nothing to write home about, but still relatively clean, functional and stocked. There is a toddler play area, basketball courts, and a soccer pitch that appeared in good shape and all saw use the entire time we visited. Great park to take a picnic."
"I love the Berkeley rose garden! My son graduated from Berkeley 10 years ago and brought us there for the first time when we visited him in college. We have to go every time we are in the area. It's a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is well kept and so peaceful. I just love stopping by after a long day of playing tourist in San Francisco."
