Cesar Chavez Park
About the Business
Cesar Chavez Park, located at 11 Spinnaker Way in Berkeley, California, is a popular tourist attraction and recreational park. Visitors can apply for permits, schedule inspections, and research zoning policies at this location. Additionally, businesses can apply for licenses, receive assistance, and find bid opportunities here.
This park, built on a former landfill site, offers stunning views of the three bay bridges, Alcatraz, and Angel Island. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, including the wheelchair-accessible Dorothy Stegmann trail, as well as a wildlife sanctuary at the northern end of the park.
In honor of union leader Cesar E. Chavez, the park was renamed in 1996. The Berkeley City Council approved the Phase I Design for the Chavez Memorial Solar Calendar in 2004. The park also features a 17-acre off-leash dog area that was approved by the City Council in 1998.
Originally known as North Waterfront Park, this space was built on a landfill dating back to 1957. After being completely sealed in 1991, the park opened to the public. For more information on city-wide activities and resources at Cesar Chavez Park, visit http://www.ecologycenter.org/chavez.

Reviews
"This place slaps for a little sunset walk with a friend right after work to catch sunset!! Pretty ample parking - and feeling good energy seeing everyone else on their hot girl walks too. Recommend taking the frontage road during rush hours if you’re rushing to catch the stellar winter sunsets after work !"
"Great park with lots of space and paths for both biking and walking. Perfect off leash park for dogs and has many dog water fountains. Amazing views and good parking!"
"Clean area, didn't see dog feces or trash. Nice views, good to stroll, exercise, or spend family time. Most people respect the dog/leash rules. Can get busy during peak times or really lovely days; even so, good environment."
"We love coming here, as it’s great to go for a run or take our 4 year old on her bike. The views are amazing."
"A beautiful park in the East Bay adjacent to the Double Tree Inn near the Berkeley Marina. One of the closest and largest off-leash area around in the center of the park. However, please have control of your dog if you let them run."
