Reviews of Dr. Alan Schwartz O.D., P.C.
"Has done a great job. Easy apts. in and out. Listens well. Did great with my kids!"
"Great guy and optomologigst. Have been seeing him for 4 years and absolutely no complaints."
"I have gone to Doctor Swartz once with no problems, but my husband, who has never had an eye exam went to doctor Swartz and first off was lectured about not having an eye exam ever... He has had perfect vision his entire life, and no insurance, and also never had the money to get an unneeded eye exam, but to be lectured by this guy is over the top. It's none of his business that he has never had an eye exam! Not his place to lecture him like a child!!! Second and most important, he asked my husband if he could dilate his eyes. My husband said NO. All he needs is reading glasses. The doctor then hands him a form, knowing my husband can't read what he will be signing... After a moment of squinting, my husband signed the form. The doctor proceeded to put drops in his eyes to dilate his eyes after being told NO. My husband did not realize he was dilating his eyes with those drops. He thought some type of machine dilated eyes.... He was coerced into doing something he did not want to do. We had plans right after this appointment and this doctor ruined our plans. We paid extra for dilation. We were so irritated, we left and did not go back to get the "photos" of my husbands eyes taken for the doctor to look at. I feel strongly that if a patient clearly says NO, that should be that. Enough said. Not sure if this doctor realizes that people have a choice of what is done to their own bodies, but we will never be going back here again. He took advantage of him knowing full well he had never had an eye exam and wasn't sure of what he was doing and didn't know what to expect... My husband is healthy as a young bull, and only in his 40's, so it was not necessary for him to have his eyes dilated, especially after saying NO!"
