Reviews of The House of Clues Escape room games
"Just really not that great, echoing a lot of other reviews about how there isn't very good immersion (due to the posted signs, the lack of story, and the lack of sound insulation) , the puzzles aren't that thoughtful, and the workers aren't that enthusiastic or in character. Not completely terrible rooms, since there were a few novelties, but definitely nothing special or memorable and a few things to leave a sour taste in my mouth. This strikes me as a poor attempt to commercialize the recent fad of escape rooms, rather than anything borne of enthusiasm."
"My recent visit to this escape room was far from enjoyable, the one-star rating is simply so that I can leave this review, 0 is what's deserved. The game masters seemed incredibly inattentive, forcing us to repeatedly ask for clues with little response. To add to the frustration, the clues provided were often ahead of our progress, causing confusion. One major letdown was the absence of a compelling backstory, leaving us clueless about the intended storyline. The overall setting lacked privacy, as the open design allowed distractions from teams in other rooms, diminishing the immersive experience. Additionally, various components within the room were malfunctioning, further hindering our ability to engage fully. Surprisingly, there was no one to greet us upon entering, setting a disappointing tone for the entire escape room experience. In summary, this escape room fell short on multiple fronts, making it the worst I've ever encountered. I hope this feedback helps both the facility and future participants seeking a more satisfying adventure."
"Myslef and my wife have done 30+ escape rooms across the country and unfortunately the museum room here was one of the worst we have ever expiranced. There is an open ceiling design so you can hear other parties yelling and the front desk talking to the newcomers. The puzzles were cheaply made and unintuitive. The lighting and tech were sub par. The facility overall showed a lack of care."
"Pretty nice place, we did the castle one and it was fun and longer than expected (we only had 40sec left when we finished it!). The lack of a ceiling on the rooms and no sound insolation is a pretty big bummer, especially for some of the puzzles requiring sound and the speakers for hints being loud enough you can hear from other rooms. Also, in general I dont love escape rooms that have "do not touch" items as it takes away from the immersion and makes the objects stand out more (since they don't have the stickers). It changes the game in a way I think is for the worse, even given the practical reasons for putting them."
"Of all the pirate themed escape rooms I’ve been to, this one is by far the best! The atmosphere, decorations, puzzles, and overall creativity was amazing. Our group will for sure be back for the other two rooms! The two people running the event were awesome too! Very friendly and we had a really great time hanging out with them before and after the game. Would highly recommend this place!"
