Reviews of Rai's India Bazar
"This Indian store offers a diverse range of authentic spices, snacks, and groceries, providing customers with a taste of India's rich culinary culture. With friendly service and quality products, it's a go-to destination for anyone seeking genuine Indian ingredients and flavors."
"Place is horrible in terms of cleanliness and also having enough inventory. In times that I’ve gone staff has been rude and we might have seen a rat or two a few years ago running in the store near the stands where the supplies are. Over the years this store has continued to become more run down with less of the staples"
"Honestly, I was going to stop here because it was a 1 minute detour compared to a 10 minute detour for any other store. I called them to ask if they had a product in stock, when inquiring about the price a guy goes. No, I cannot tell you that over the phone. Not only was he rude, his English is terrible, and clearly his business practices are very very poor. Poor. Imagine a grocery store or other food establishment that won't tell you how much an item cost unless you come in. It's one thing if it's a discount place and they are charging you less than what the manufacturer recommends, it's a whole other thing if they're trying to rip you off like this guy is. If you've given this place anything more than two stars you deserve to be banned from giving any Google reviews."
"I had a very awful experience today (Dec 24th) at this place. I was out of few things while cooking and as this Indian store was closest to my house, I went there. I wanted to buy heavy whipping cream. One was kept in the front on a rack in the refrigerator which was expiring on Dec 29th, and another few were kept on a lower rack behind some items (clearly visible) and were expiring on Jan 5th. I picked the Jan 5th one as it was a big box and I would have not been able to finish it by Dec 29th. During the checkout, cashier (owner) had the audacity to SCOLD me and question me why I got this and not the one expiring on Dec 29th. I am a very non confrontational person and was slightly confused by the absurdity of this situation. Thus, explained him exactly why I would not be able to finish it by Dec 29th. He eventually billed the one I picked up though had a disappointing look on his face. This man was very rude and disrespectful. I remembered that there was another time when he was disrespectful, though I gave him benefit of doubt that time. I have decided not to go again to this store. However, wanted to leave a review here so the owners understand that this is not how you treat your customers, especially the ones who have been nothing but nice and respectful."
"This is a decent Indian grocery store. Not very big however you do get almost everything that you need on daily basis for example Indian spices, vegetables, oils, lentils etc. This store is close by hence it is very convenient for me to do my Grocery shopping here. Having said that, they do lack variety or options. So if I am shopping for a special occasion like karva chauth, Diwali etc then I prefer to go other big stores in Sunnyvale like Cash and Carry etc as there you can get lot of varieties. During this Pandemic, this store is operating well within guidelines. They do make sure that there aren't too many people inside the store all at the same time and wearing mask is mandatory etc. Hope this helps."
