Reviews of Labcorp
"The front desk was cordial. It went downhill fast after that. The young lady that did my urine drug screen was very unprofessional and rude. Wouldn't let me lock my purse in the box, spoke very softly and when I had to get her to repeat herself, she got rude and got an attitude. I told her that I'm sorry, I'm hard of hearing and her bad attitude didn't change. But the upside, the phlebotomist was excellent with her technique, very friendly, and professional."
"It took several people 3 times of jabbing my wife’s arm, before finally drawing blood for a TB test. The next week, we got a call from her employer that the lab still had not sent the results. Why? Come to find out, they NEVER even ran the bloodwork! So Idk if they lost/broke the blood vial, or messed up the test. But now my wife has to return and get jabbed again for a new test. I have never experienced such negligence + incompetence from any medical lab, ever."
"Went to a Labcorp location for the first time today to have blood work completed. This location was the one in Knoxville near Sutherland. The check in process was different but very efficient and the individual at the front desk was kind enough. How the experience went when getting my actual lab work completed was bizarre with no bedside manners (for the sake of efficiency is what I ended up concluding). I walked into the lab room and immediately was told “set your stuff down on the chair” there were 2 chairs in the room, when I asked about it I felt like I was being scolded. When I was told (not asked) “get on the scale” I was then asked “what’s the number” and I had to tell them my weight out loud, which is whatever, but knowing my weight has always been a sore spot for me at medical visits let alone announcing it (and in front of another employee present as well) so there was no discreetness whatsoever. They also just held up a measuring tape to me and just said “hold it and turn around” and I had no idea what was going on on at first until I realized they were taking my waist measurement. Again, it’s fine, but it felt awkward and was clunky because I was never told “now we are going to take your waist measurement” or something to that effect. Then I was told to sit in one of the chairs and they said “don’t talk.” (I wasn’t talking throughout any of this anyhow but okay). The medical professional giving me these cold orders was also TRAINING a new employee. They started explaining the process they were doing to the new employee and I think they said something how they like to do the blood pressure at a certain point in the visit so the patient is more calm for the reading or something to that effect - my blood pressure and pulse was sky high due to not being told what was happening at any point and just being given orders! I’ve never had lab work executed in this manner so I was totally thrown off. I completely understand the focus on efficiency at a lab work corporation, but your work is centered around people, and bedside manners go a long way in the medical field, even just for lab work. All it would take is a simple “we are going to give you some instructions for the next few minutes, we will let you know what we are doing as we go” or something to that effect and it would add on a minuscule amount of time. I will purposely avoid going back to this location and hope I have a better experience at the other Labcorp location here in Knoxville when the time comes again."
"The receptionist lady with the white scrubs with breast cancer awareness ribbons is very unprofessional, and disrespectful. She’s treating every person who walks in, like they’re some sort of inconvenience to her life. As if she isn’t here to do a seemingly simple task, albeit repetitive. And then she goes to the back and speaks to her coworkers in the way she should be speaking to the guests, with respect and a tone that lets people know that they’re not doing anything to frustrate her etc.. This is a very good example of allowing the wrong people to work front ends, or customer service! She most definitely needs to be in the back away from other people. Highly unprofessional, and I do not recommend anyone visit this location for genuine care unless it is your only option. I have had way better treatment from other facilities, and will most definitely never come out this way for anything like this again. Be warned!!"
