Reviews of Foodmaxx
"FoodMaxx is a budget-friendly supermarket that delivers on value and variety. While it may not have the flashy ambiance of higher-end grocery stores, it more than compensates with its extensive selection and unbeatable prices. From fresh produce to pantry staples, you'll find everything you need here without breaking the bank. The layout is straightforward, making shopping quick and efficient, and the staff is always helpful and courteous. If you're looking to stretch your grocery budget without sacrificing quality, FoodMaxx is the place to go."
"I rarely shop here. The problem is the same every time. Despite FoodMaxx's reputation for good prices and great selection, they do not care one bit about their disabled customers. You walk in the store and there are NO ACCESSIBILITY SCOOTERS IN SIGHT. Not one. Turns out, they have it hidden at the far end of the checkout counter section of the store. In order to access said scooter you are required to walk in the OUT door; wait until a cashier has a chance between customers to speak with you; hand over your driver's license; and wait for them to fish out a key, walk to the scooter, unlock it, and drive it over to you. Sounds simple, right? It's not, nor does is show empathy and concern for those who struggle just to live. Nor does it show any degree of understanding for just how exhausting, humiliating, and demeaning it is to have to beg for help literally EVERYWHERE you go. After years of being disabled enough to need help with just about every aspect of life, I no longer waste my time or money with places or people who can't be bothered to show compassion and make it possible for me to have a small degree of independence. After today, I will never again shop at Food Maxx. For the record, when asked why they have this discriminatory and inconvenient-for-everyone-involved policy/procedure in place, they cite problems with the scooters being stolen. But every store has this problem and most of them figure out ways to deal with the issue without punishing disabled customers. Such as parking the scooter near the security guard who is posted near the OUT door during business hours. After all, asset protection IS his job! More to the point, putting control in the security guard's hands would avoid inconveniencing customers who have to wait to check out until the cashier has dealt with getting the scooter going, it would avoid inconveniencing cashiers who have to stop everything and leave their register to get the scooter, and it would avoid inconveniencing and potentially humiliating the disabled customer who stands a very real chance of falling and injuring themselves on the concrete floor when the wait for the scooter becomes too long. (It was just such an incident which caused me to stop shopping at WalMart. Nobody wants to show their face at a store they've collapsed in and ended up a spectacle.) Bad Form, FoodMaxx. Bad form."
"Use to work here when I was 20 as a utility clerk when it was called Food4Less. I very rarely shop here for groceries due to lack of quality, being fresh, service and cleanliness. Plus this place has gotten very ghetto over the years. The people that work there look miserable and not very happy being there. So don’t expect much from them. if you want quality groceries that are fresh and willing to pay more you’re better off at Safeway, sprouts or Trader Joe’s."
"The Indian lady at the register should not take out her frustrations on people. She has a very rude tone and calls people passive aggressively “jackasses” right in front of all the customers. Very low behavior, very sad person. Do not recommend them for their customer service."
"I am a long-time customer of this store, I used to give this store 5 stars but what happened to me, the way the cashier treated me made me change my mind .I had a bad experience with the cashier here, this is the second time with the same person, the old lady, the first time I won't mention it here. She is extremely rude. I often buy lottery using the machine when I go shopping. The incident happened, I asked her to return the money and told her what happened several times, because my English is not good. She gave me an attitude and told me “no need to tell me 4 times” in a very rude way. After she checked the machine and told me to get my money back from the other cashier. While I was waiting for another cashier, I looked at her fixing the machine, she turned around and said something extremely rude in a loud and angry voice: “DON'T LOOK AT MY FACE, GO TO THE CASHIER AND SAY TALK TO HER. .” How could someone like that do a job that involves communicating with customers, not only tarnishing the store's image but also ruining other people's feelings. Whoever the manager is should consider with this person."
