"The San Benito Fair is always a treat but the lack of non-profits ( I e lions ,club/ rotary) etc offering food or drink shows the increasing commercialization of what was mostly a community fair!"

"Played the national anthem to open the rodeo with the Hollister High school Band. Everyone was super friendly and we got a free entrance to the fair and even free corn dogs. Very fun"

"I volunteered to host Farm Day for the third graders from Hollister. Local farms and organization's give the children the opportunity to learn about farming and ranching practices. Where does your food come from? How to ride a horse, etc. There were huge tractors, animals to pet and a beautiful picnic area under the oak trees. A real highlight was the farrier demonstration and the San Benito County Cowboy museum and stadium. An annual horse show and rodeo is held here the last weekend in June. Only local cowboys and cowgirls are welcome to compete. They have 3 very unique events; The figure 8 roping, cowhide race and the wild horse race! Great entertainment!"
