Reviews of Campbell Community Center
"I love the activities for my daughters. ( Ballet, hip-hop, swim) Run and play in the playground area."
"Beautiful facility, but there's some greedy inappropriate usage of this public community center, that was built and maintained with our tax dollars! The place charges unethically high usage rates, even to nonprofits. Which has resulted in much of the facility sitting vacant, for decades in an area with high demand for facility usage. This faceless greed, has robbed the local South Bay community of all the enrichment the place was built for. The few vendors who try to survive these gouging prices, are barely making it, no matter how popular and full their programs or classes are. Most won't even try to navigate the corruption and nonsense. Their insurance policy requires routine, or even one time, event vendors to buy an insurance policy that states that the entire government of Campbell must be covered under it! I've never seen a more shady contract in decades of renting from community centers. It's really disgraceful that such a well designed and built center sits mostly wasted, paid for by a community that really needs what could be offered here. Again: The rates charged are not in legal accordance, as they violate the exact verbiage that the public's tax dollars were agreed to be used for. This has been going on for decades. Whoever has been the government leadership and decision makers involved in leasing this space, should be relieved of their duties. As they're corrupt and failing the community paying for this facility and who it was promised to."
"Good facilities, best for recreation, and useful for working out. I have been here often for running and body weight training. The place is spacious with standard running tracks including football field, the exercise equipment and a good size amphitheater. And it is cleaned. Many local people such as athletics, seniors and kids like to come here in the evening since this place is the best for family to have sport activities together. And no worries for parking, there is plenty space, except for the special event day."
"Great facility. Volleyball court is great. The gym is also great - clean and has enough space to do a great workout! Highly recommended. The Campbell Community Center is a unique community service complex. The site, which used to house the city's only high school, was purchased by the City of Campbell from the Campbell Union High School District in August of 1985. The center is home to the majority of the recreation classes offered through the city's Recreation and Community Services Department. The facility also offers a variety of rental opportunities."
"The Campbell Community Center offers so many things to do and see. The center is really the heart of the city. A block from downtown and steps away from many brand name stores. There’s even a small town post office across the street. The center is also where many of the city recreation classes are offered as well as some private schools and adult services. I love the outdoor track. It's one of the best places to walk or run in the valley. The track lanes are made of a foam like ground which makes it ideal for running or walking. Perfect for older adults who need a soft landing. Just in case! Also, its better for the old knees. The football track also provides a small area for outdoor workouts and a bathroom. There is also a large pool and indoor workout room for more classes. The Orchard Banquet Hall is a perfect place for mid to large size group events like community events, fundraisers, member meet ups, weddings and award ceremonies. I recently chaired the Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for the CWCC and it was a great place to host it (see photos). The kitchen is large and has most of what you need like sinks, carts, freezer, ice machine, stove and oven and bathroom. The hall is kept very clean and they have wonderful onsite helpers to make set up a breeze. They also offer a convenient location very near the hall to load and unload. Parking can be challenging during the busy daytime, but there is plenty of parking areas to choose from. The Heritage Theater is a wonderful place to see a concert, show, school play, or small graduations due to the intimate size of the room. A huge plus is the restrooms are inside too! I love the architecture. Its very adobe like with beauty tile work and a fountain in front of the theater that is modern and interesting. It's a very inviting place and makes for great conversation on a date night at the theater."
