"We went last night to the Big Brother And The Holding Company concert at the Sunnyvale Theatre which is a really nice place to watch a concert. It's small and intimate with a seating capacity of 200. We had great seats in the center, second row from the stage. For those that don't know, Big Brother And The Holding Company was one of really popular bands from the 60's and had many hit songs and they were also from San Francisco. At one time Janice Joplin was the lead singer. There are two original band members in the band, Peter Albin - bass and Dave Getz - drums. The concert was awesome and if can see them, I'd recommend it. The Sunnyvale Theatre will have more events that you can find on their website."
"My family had a very disappointing experience trying to attend a performance at the Sunnyvale Community Theatre, and we discourage other theater-goers, particularly those who are planning a visit with children. Perhaps our experience was uncharacteristic for this theater, but we only have this one circumstance as basis for our review. We purchased tickets to the Oct 1, 2pm performance of Little Mermaid on Aug 31st. The day before the show, the theater’s ticket vendor notified us via email that the show was overbooked by the venue, and they could only offer tickets to an 8pm performance that night (same day as notification and not feasible with young children) or a refund. It did not explicitly state that our tickets had been canceled. How overbooked could a community performance be for tickets purchased a month in advance to not make the cut? There was no way to directly contact the theater’s box office on the day of the performance to confirm whether we still had tickets. We had to wait until we received an email reply from the third party ticket vendor that our tickets had unfortunately been canceled and we would be refunded. To confuse matters further, we received an automated reminder email from the ticket vendor the morning of the performance that our tickets would be ready at the box office, which proved to be erroneous. This is an event we had been planning for a month, and to receive an overbooking notification the day prior gave no time to make an alternative plan. This level of customer service is on par with soulless airline tactics to maximize bookings, and surprising from a community-oriented theater. We now have two very sad girls, and will not be supporting this theater’s productions in the future."
"The seating is comfortable, compared to many other similar theaters. The acoustics are great. The location is pretty."
"It's a nice cozy little theatre. Loved the experience.."
