"Can't beat this park for a break from the hustle. Stroll the beautiful garden, watch the dogs and people frolic, catch the fabulous view of the Painted Ladies and SF backdrop. Short walk to a dozen local lunch spots. Large trees and shrubs provide shelter when windy or foggy. Public toilets are handy."
"Great views of SF; lots of dogs (leashed and unleashed areas - the owners were respectful); very lush green; loads of seats; also very near a Big Bus stop"
"Loved the views of San Francisco in the distant, the whole area has cute Victorian homes all around it, with notably the painted ladies. The home from “full house” is a couple blocks away, I drove by but people live there now so didn’t stop. The park has huge trees (not sure what kind) but they are beautiful and walking around is worth it."
"It’s all innocent until you get to the edge of the park and then the hills get serious. But, that’s the price of great views. A really pretty park that lets you see pretty much all of downtown. Worth all the climbing."
"I just graduated from the men's residential program on 890 Hayes and would go to this park several times a week for stress relief and group therapy. It's an awesome place to connect to nature and get out of the house. There is also a great sense of community even though most of the people who go there are tourists to see the pink ladies haha. The view is great and iconic. Some of the dog walkers / owners are a little snooty but I think that just comes with the territory. If it's your first time going there be prepared to people watch and take awesome pictures. Also, anytime of the day it can get really really windy and chilly so make sure to bring a light jacket. Other than that it's an awesome park!"
