Reviews of Vanderbilt Radiology
"I tried to schedule my mri since I finally got authorization from my insurance and the radiology told me I needed to call to get the authorization to schedule. I called back my insurance and after a while I finally got all the information and called radiology back. The lady who answered the phone the second time told me that they couldn't accept it over the phone and I needed to have them fax it. I explained that I've already talked to them and they've already faxed it twice but radiology is saying that they haven't received either so instead of constantly playing phone tag, can she give me the fax number so I can make sure that it's being sent to the right number. The lady at radiology then said that she couldn't give me the number nor did she have a number since it's unrelated to her. I asked if I could speak to the manager or supervisor in charge to ask her but she said no and that I can call the insurance to have them re-fax the authorization. I asked if she could check their website for the authorization since it would show on there but she said no she couldnt do that either since it wasnt her job. I called the insurance and explained all my conversations so far to them and had them call to clarify the fax number and after doing so they told me the issue was a wrong fax number so after getting the new number, they resubmitted it. I called again to schedule my mri and a guy answered, he heard a few words of what I said and while I was still talking, he transfered me to another extension. Another gentlemen answered and said he was only for inpatient and wasn't sure why I was transfered to him and sent me back to the other guy. The guy who first answered picked up again and after hearing me, then redirected me to the beginning recording of when you call. Finally I got through again after it was now high call volumes and that lady was really nice. She checked and the authorization still wasn't in yet but she at least checked with her supervisor on if she was able to put the information in since i had it but the supervisor said she wasn't able to and they needed the actual fax. Even though I couldn't schedule I was appreciative that she checked and tried since out of the 6 conversations of trying to schedule, she was the only one who actually tried to do anything. I was honestly really shocked on how horrible everyone else was. I really hope other people get better and proper treatment because I think the people scheduling these appointments are desensitized and forget that they are scheduling people for tests that have something wrong, it only takes a few minutes to get a fax number, or to check with a supervisor on a question, or to have enough courtesy to listen to more than 5 words before transferring the patient while they are talking. There was a huge lack of care which was very noticeable in everyone except that last lady."
"As a 20 year old going in for a ct scan, i was super nervous and had absolutely no idea what to expect. I cannot describe how kind and understanding their staff is! Everyone made sure I was comfortable during every single step of the way. My nurse Michelle was very sweet and patient, and took amazing care of me. Gil and Thurman who performed the scan itself were also very kind and informative. Highly recommend going here!"
"The Vanderbilt Radiology Department did a great job yesterday. The lady that did my scans was very nice as well as very professional. Vanderbilt Hospital is a great place to have family or friends go when they are in need of a good place for treatment."
