VETERAN CLEANING COMPANY

"My husband and I decided to hire a cleaning company to do the move out cleaning of our house on post - just to get some weight off our shoulders. Moving and packing is a lot work on top of having little kids running around. my husband is a service member so we wanted to support a local and veteran owned business. We decided to choose Veteran Cleaning for the move out cleaning. Since it was a move out cleaning, we expected that they already knew what to do. Communication was good, responses were very timely. On the day of the appointment, we were suprised that only one person showed up, a young lady (College Student). We got a little worried but we trusted the process and left her to her cleaning. When she was finished, we did a walk through of the house. From the initial appearance she did a decent job but upon further inspection, the cleaning was nowhere near move out quality. She did say that if there was anything else that needs to be cleaned, it's alright to tell her. But, she's just a kid and it was also getting late. We didn't want her to stay late for her safety cos it was also getting dark outside. My husband and I still had to put in hours of additional cleaning. I know we should've but after the appointment, we didn't contact the owner about the issue cos we were already running out of time before our move out inspection. We have nothing against the person who cleaned. We appreciate her effort and the job she did. It's just sad cos for the price we paid, it would've probs had a different outcome if there was another person who supervised or helped her. I don't know, maybe it was also partly our fault that we failed explain to them what was needed prior to the appointment. We assumed that, since they're are a veteran owned business, they would already have an idea of what the requirements are for a move out cleaning on post. We are giving 3 stars cos like what we have mentioned earlier, communication was good and the young lady did a decent job. But, there's also room for improvement. If there were two people, it would be easy to delegate the job and focus on the areas that need cleaning. It would also make the cleaning easier and faster."

"Tried to hire them for a basic house cleaning and got a no-call/no-show. I called them a week in advance of my desired cleaning date and scheduled a standard house cleaning for a townhouse. I needed help cleaning up since it had been sitting dormant for a few weeks while I was away for work. The Saturday morning they were scheduled to arrive, I called to see why they were almost an hour late. I couldn't get an answer for the first call and left a message. The second call I was able to get through and was told that they were not servicing my place because they assumed I had been impacted my the tornado that came through the previous weekend. My address is less than a mile from the recent tornados path, but my townhouse complex was not affected or damaged. The woman on the phone told me that she had tried to text me during the week to see if I had been affected by the tornado and said when I didn't reply, she assumed that meant I had been impacted by the tornado. I asked her what number she was using to text me and she when she read back my caller ID, it was my exact phone number. I don't know if she had the wrong phone number written down somewhere or if she was texting the wrong number but if there was a technical problem, it definitely wasn't on my end because I use that phone number for work and receive calls and texts from strangers very often without issue. I'm giving them two stars because they did offer to have someone in the area come out and fulfill services, but at that point I decided to not do business with a company that is this poor at communicating. In my opinion, for a situation as unique as potential tornado damage, a simple phone call is the proper method of communication before completely canceling an appointment. Not texting. They could also have easily looked up my address to see if it was actually among the affected houses in the area. I also don't see why a servicer couldn't have sent someone to go and see first-hand that my road is open and has been for 6 days and there is no tornado damage for about a square mile. I was home that morning and awaiting cleaning services. The assumption that I was among those affected by the tornado because they couldn't reach me is insulting to the people that are actually displaced due to this natural disaster. Those people lost a lot and I was fortunate enough to only be without power over the previous weekend. Everything in my neighborhood was back to normal long before the appointment was intended to happen. I was lucky enough to only be minorly inconvenienced by the nearby natural disaster and it is ironic that this cleaning service caused me the biggest inconvenience of all the tornado related issues I've personally had to deal with. Their poor communication and lack of effort to fulfill services shows a disinterest in having me as a customer. Lastly, if the owner chooses to respond to this negative review, please know that I have no intention of taking down or editing this post. This is was my experience with your company's communication methods and you should own that."
