Reviews of The Pampered Pooch Pet Resort
"We picked up our dogs last Sunday after a weeks stay at The Pampered Pooch in Brentwood. When we picked up Monkey, his rear end was crusted over with dried poop. His backside was also clearly irritated and inflamed. This wasn't brought to my attention by the staff; it was something I noticed myself on the way out the door. After putting my other dog in the car, I returned with Monkey to the building and asked for a wet wipe or something to clean him up. A staff member gave me a few paper towels and, after seeing my clean-up work on Monkey for a few minutes, offered to help. I expected to bathe my pups when I got home, and I completely understand that accidents happen. However, I have no idea how long Monkey was in this state. Based on the irritation and dryness, it had to have been an extended period. The owners responded to me after I emailed them about the situation later that day. They offered to give Monkey a bath if I returned with him, but I declined due to the lack of trust I have in their care for my animals. They also told me that they are instituting a new policy to avoid these situations in the future, which I hope is true. However, they also repeated throughout our conversation that they had cared for many animals in the past without issue. This brings me no comfort since my own dog received such poor treatment. This situation also leaves me with questions about the quality of care throughout their stay. Monkey's situation was clearly noticeable and a direct indication of neglect. On a smaller note, after unpacking their bag later that day, both of my dogs had full bags of dog treats remaining. Meaning they had not received their dental treats for the majority of their stay. I had not been told that I couldn't bring their treats, so I view this as another indication of neglect on behalf of the staff. At best, it is a clear lack of communication. We won't be returning to this facility, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a safe or reliable stay for their animals."
"Refused to give our deposit back when our 12 year old dog was sick. We decided last minute to use a house-sitter instead of the kennel since she was not doing well. We ended up having to put her to rest for the same issues three weeks later. Pampered Pooch still took $125 in deposit despite us explaining the situation. We took our dogs here for over three years prior to this and still used the reservation for our other dog, meaning they did not waste a kennel space. Did not even allow us to apply the deposit to our other dog."
"I grew up and moved from Nashville to Dunedin, FL. 2 times I have experienced a mandatory evacuation order due to hurricanes. My dog Coco and I loaded up and came to Nashville - both times were during holidays (Fall Break and the other Labor Day Weekend). PPR took her in, even though she had never stayed there before (she was fully vetted and they checked, as they should, hurricane or no). She is very social and was thrilled with the cooler weather and hanging out with her peeps. I saw pictures every day, and she was obviously having a blast. Fast forward to the next Fall, hurricane #2. Not only did they take her for a few nights, but kept her after I ended up in the hospital for several more days. I can't say enough good things - she loves it there - they bent over backwards to help me out. I am just sorry we live 10 hours away so she can't go to daycare once a week to hang out by the pool with her peeps! Thanks so very much!"
"Our puppy #dog Elsa just got groomed for the first time. She’s so pretty! The technician explained that she would attempt a full haircut, but would modify it if my puppy got scared and did not cooperate. Elsa did great and looks amazing! The resort works with you to make sure your pet has been to the vet and has required shots. They want all their clients to be healthy. Recommend this establishment for grooming services."
