"This is the first time I visited since the change of ownership. The light was bright and comfortable. The food tasted pretty good with the reasonable price. I shall come back to try their dimsum next round"
"Situated on a working class section of east 14th street in San Leandro , King Kong dim sum offers moderately low priced dim sum as well as other standard Cantonese fare in a distinctly working class setting. It's hardly a destination restaurant but it fits the bill if you're looking for authentic Chinese food that doesn't break the wallet. Dim sum is well, good. Items were made to order and items came out piping hot. For better or worse, dim sum looked to be made in-house and not from some outside dim sum factory like some other establishments. Portion size is large and it should be given the customer base. I suppose you could say their dim sum is slightly more "rough inside the edges" The beef chow fun we ordered was decent. Plenty of overly tenderized beef and bok chow and hoh fun with some "wok hay". 8/10 for quantity and 6/10 for quality. They are not shy about using MSG. King Kong also sells roast duck and Chinese roast pork belly. I hear the roast duck is well priced, meaty and actually quite good. We didn't order it though. Service is efficient and the waitresses are fairly polite. The balding guy in his late 40s that sits in the corner oversees and runs the place. Parking might be a challenge on the weekends. There is a small parking lot at the end next to the Salvadoran restaurant. If you happen to be in the area and are looking for a solid Chinese restaurant, give King Kong a try. Go in with moderate expectations and they will be met"
"Updated February 5, 2022 After pandemic not as many items as before...I know supply chain issues cut back most Chinese restaurants but i sincerely hope they gradually bring the full, wide selection back. Come support them! I've coming here for yrs while other dim sum places raise their price for the rich King Kong remains true to we the ppl ... love their variety of selection all very authentic and dinner spl offer deals you can't refuse. So come hungry as it won't break your bank."
"Really cheap if you come here for the $22 for 3 dishes deal and the food isn't bad either. I go here pretty often with my family, usually for dinner, but occasionally will come for dim sum as well. The cleanliness isn't bad when compared to other Chinese restaurants of the same caliber and the prices are spot on. I recommend the sweet and sour fish or the cream corn fish."
"Everything is just pretty ok overall. The Peking duck and the Walnut shrimp were pretty solid but the lobster and the beef dishes were bland."
