Reviews of Standard Plumbing and Industrial Supply
"Always have what I need and knowledgeable and courteous"
"The counter guy took one look at my bag o' parts and had what I needed...after way too many trips to the big box store. A tad pricey, yes, but worth the $$ in saving trips to other stores that don't carry the product for a 100 year old house. I highly recommend this place."
"I love the way this store service. Professional and full inventory. All the plumbing parts. All part for repairs, plumbing need. Many items you could not find at Home Depot store."
"This location takes advantage of people in need. I called and talked to Tom. I told him that I had was looking for a water heater and that it was being replaced under warranty. He told me they had 13 of them and he told me what I should bring for the warranty. I met Tom at the counter and he had me fill out part of a form. He filled out the form and cut a label from the front panel of my now dead water heater. He started to enter information in the computer. We were 15 minutes into the process when he said, "They charge a fifty dollars to process a warranty." I told him the manufacturer said nothing about a charge. Tom said, "We charge fifty dollars for our time filling out the form". I said, "It would have been nice to know that when I talked to you on the phone. I could of looked for other options." Tom said, "You're getting a water heater for fifty dollars." I said, "I was on track to get a water heater for free." Tom held out the completed form and said, "You are welcome to get the water heater from the manufacturer directly." He said it with a tone of a person who knows that he has you over a barrel and you are not going to leave without the water heater. They know that if you are replacing a water heater under warranty, then that means that you do not have hot water and you are not likely to argue about a fifty dollar charge. Tom said they charge for doing warranties on water heaters, "For our time." Standard plumbing chooses a cheap way to make fifty dollars off of people, and this is a shame. They did not have to do any more work than to fill out the form, and they get paid by the manufacturer. There is no time taken for them to ship the defective unit to the manufacturer. If there was, then I could agree to the charge. However, a fifty dollar charge to watch Tom fill out a form for 20 minutes does not seem like a good deal to me. I would have come here to leave a five star review, and I would have made Standard Plumbing my first choice for my plumbing needs, if they would have taken care of me as a customer as they were on track to do. I needed this resolved quickly, and they were making it easy. As a homeowner, they would have had a great customer in me, and I would have been singing their praises to anyone who would have listened. And that would have been worth more than fifty dollars. Instead, I am going to get my fifty dollars worth by making sure that people know that Standard Plumbing is taking a hinky approach to charge a fifty dollar fee to people they know have little to no choice, and to do it at a point in the process, where their only option is to cause further delay. PS - If Standard Plumbing had a website, I would have sent this to them directly instead of making it public."
"I work in the service and repair side of plumbing commercial and residential and Standard is one of the best plumbing suppliers to go to, the service here is always on point outstanding and great faculty to match. These guys are always an a great help."
