"Rudest and most condescending experience I’ve ever had trying to buy a $3 item. Two stars because their selection is fine, but the owner/manager just isn’t worth suffering. With a dozen hardware stores in a ten block radius, I can’t recommend this one. Do yourself a favor, skip this tomfoolery and try Brownies a couple blocks up on Polk."

"Worker at front was absolutely rude. I was at the front and he looked passed me saying “I will help you” to the other customers behind me. Completely ignored when I asked for help and then gave me attitude when I made a made a polite final attempt to get his attention. I don’t know if he is racist or what his deal is but his degrading dismissive behavior is not something I would wish on anyone. I now look at the past reviews and it seems like everyone who has had the same experience were of Asian descent. Please stop using this place as a package pickup point. “JUST TYPE NAME. STOP. TYPE NAME. DONT DO THAT. TYPE NAME.” When he gave me the device to find my package. It was jarring. I went to my email to make sure I didn’t read it incorrectly and showed him the screen, conversationally and he immediately yelled, “I DONT NEED TO SEE THAT.” His tone and mannerism was absolutely insolent, sharp, harsh and uncalled for. This is not how you would speak to someone if you were simply a decent human being, let alone providing a service as a mom and pop shop. Disgusting and they do not deserve to be in business. Brownies, Ace and Cole hardware shop is on Polk st is where you need to go if you want to be treated with any form of decency and are looking for employees who actually know what they’re talking about, about DIY home stuff or just what it means to provide a respectful and friendly service. If you don’t want that, feel free to shop at Nob Hill hardware, they will leave you feeling worse and more confused than you came in. Never have I experienced any treatment like this, especially in our city. Pic of employee, attached."

"The owner of this store should not have a business license in San Francisco. I overhead an interaction where he was being blatantly racist to an Asian woman. I immediately put down my shopping and walked out. Our city is no place for hate. I will be reporting this incident to the appropriate authorities."

"Staff was extremely rude. I went to pick up my package. Didnt even bother to look at my tracking number or made an effort to look it up. Don't use this location as your pick up location."

"Super knowledge about plumbing needs. Very fast service once your turn comes up (if there's a line). I laid out pieces I was trying to connect together and he immediately identify the missing pieces and had them available in the store. I called other hardware stores and explained what I needed -- none seemed confident they could help so my confidence was low. Nob Hill Hardware far exceeded my expectations."
