"Unfortunately we really wanted to like this place hut that isn't the case. Tacos alone are 4$ each with less meat in the taco it's self. The mulitas were completely soggy and we had just got them. The asada was very fatty. The guacamole was warm and had a very odd taste. It seems they used the cheapest meat possible but up-charge. Tables were for the most part not clean. Lots of loose salt and salsa drippings. The only great thing about this place was the staff. Friendly and got our order in right away. Spend the money down the street."
"They have Selena on repeat lol I have to be honest I really wanted to like this place, I don’t like leaving bad reviews. The only thing I liked was the Corn. The food was less than average, the taco de Lengua had no taste being the most expensive taco on the menu. The adobada was the same! Our 8 year old son eats everything but he threw his tacos to the trash, he never does that! Low quality food. The bathrooms are outside. It was the hype that’s all it is."
"My son and I wanted to get some tacos a few days ago and decided to go try recently opened Las Ahumaders located on Broadway. We were lucky enough to find parking and headed inside. We ordered an adobada burrito for my son and a couple of carne asada mulitas for me plus a couple of sodas. The food was good, service was fast even after there was an issue with my order, they promptly corrected it. I really like the atmosphere here. One negative are prices. Very high. I know everything is super expensive today but what we got for what we paid is a lot more than I expected. Regardless of this, we will probably be back."
"Had to try the new spot in town! WOW... Authentic TJ TACOS!! I got adobada and carne asada tacos, and I admit the asada was phenomenal! The adobada was also delicious, but the asada had that authentic grill flavor. The salsa I thought was more of a salsa that went well with birria, but once I had it with the asada, it was perfect... not so much with the adobada, but it was still delicious. Corn tortillas are fresh and soft. Great varieties of aguas frescas."
"Visited today right after they opened. They were not busy at all and I had no trouble finding parking. Menu is pretty varied with offerings including tacos to tortas. Prices are definitely higher than expected even with inflation and the portions do not justify the price of each taco. They put more guacamole than protein in them and not a single drop of salsa on the taco. I ordered a carne asada and adobada taco. Flavoring was underwhelming, but edible. The adobada is really more of an al pastor. I could barely taste the meat in my tacos as every bite was overwhelmed by globs of guacamole and chunks of onion. They serve the tacos with a tiny serving cup of red chunky salsa that was tasty, but useless to fix the lack of flavor in the tacos. I also ordered a birria torta. The bolillo used was good, but the birria didn't taste like birria. It was just shredded beef with red broth and again, very underwhelming flavoring. Edible but just completely lacking in wow factor like the original in TJ. They don't serve cebollitas or maybe you have to ask for them? Who knows, the cashier was friendly enough but when we mentioned it was our first visit, they didn't bother to explain anything about their ordering options or food. They also don't mention there's a 75¢ credit card fee which can be avoided if the card is run as debit vs credit. The only thing I truly enjoyed today was the agua fresca I got. It was cucumber, lime, and chile. I left this place hungry and feeling taken advantage of. I should have known this place wouldn't be great when I walked in and couldn't smell or hear the typical ongoings of a real taqueria. Definitely won't be going back and will instead continue to get my money's worth at other taquerias in the area with more of an authentic taste."
