"Called Madewell Masonry and David came to my house to inspect an outside fireplace. He responded to that initial call promptly, sending an email detailing the suggested repairs. I liked his knowledge and frankness regarding the issue, so I went with him. The job essentially entailed demoing the existing crown (which was laid using mortar rather than portland cement) and pouring a solid, thicker crown that matched my mortar color. His son and two other workers came out and completed the job timely. They were very courteous and answered all of my questions. They also took sufficient measures to protect my roof and fireplace (they used drop cloths; no footholds were used; they blew all the dust away and hauled off the debris). Outside of the new crown, you would have never known they were there. Once they were finished, they asked if I would like to come see their work, which I appreciated. A few years ago, I used another local chimney repair company to demo an old, cracked crown and pour a new one. After comparing the two crowns, I feel I got gyped by the other company as Madewell's crown was thicker, smoother, and overall looked more polished. All in all great experience. They will definitely be my go-to masons and fireplace professionals from here on out."
