Reviews of Al Carajo
"The best Chilaquiles in San Francisco, maybe in all of California. I actually crave them they are so flavorful with the egg cooked perfectly. Everything we’ve ever ordered is expertly cooked and seasoned. Some of the highest quality Mexican food you can eat anywhere."
"This place has become my top list for Mexican food in the city. I love how bold yet fresh flavor of the food here. We got ceviche, so fresh with a special flavor of, I guess, soy sauce or something asian touch. The shrimp is crunchy and naturally sweet. The mango and tomato salsa is very refreshing. The birria pizza, aka a titanic quesadilla, is packed with melted cheese and the birria! It is melt in your mouth kind of experience. I love the dipping/ soup-like sauce for birria too. The staff is so friendly and generous. The food is so good that we need to talk to the owner. He said all spices are imported from his city in Mexico. That's why the flavor is so on point. In any event, this is the place you should come visit and eat again and again."
"Al Carajo is definitely a new favorite of mine. The fish tacos were delicious, fresh, and accompanied by a tasty homemade ube masa tortilla. The two tacos the order came with were the perfect amount to make me feel full. The owner was super attentive and gave me guidance on the menu, saying the fish tacos are better eaten in the restaurant. The interior was simple and clean. Minimal seating (a couple tables inside and 3 outside) and a lovely mural on the wall. I’ll be back at Al Carajo for sure!"
"Quesito rico was beyond my dankest dreams. Fish tacos were great too, very fresh, though I think I would have appreciated some tacos. Don’t let the prices scare you off—portions are big—at least for me—and feel well worth it."
