"Over all, it was pretty good. But I do understand the low ratings, too. They do almost act as if they don't want to adopt out any animals. I can see and understand the complaints about the staff being rude, too. I nipped that attitude in the bud real quick. After that, I found the absolute best companion in the world. He's just a damn good dog. I even got a discount on his fees. It helps to be big and tattooed these days. But truth be known, I'm soft hearted and gentle. But I'm a firm believer in demanding respect from those whom I've given respect. *Edit* I lost my angel this year. He was so special. Everybody loved Apollo and was there for him anytime. Friends would come over just to take him for a ride. He was allowed in homes of folks that never had inside dogs. Kids that were horribly afraid of dogs, Apollo loved them til they lost their fear. He amazed everyone he met. His face was all you had to see and you knew he was loving. He never barked, he knew no strangers. Never growled or shown his teeth, he wasn't able to be mad. Though he looked tough, he wasn't. The most special American bulldog. The roles were flipped, I was honored to be his friend and caregiver. I would have died for him. Those that knew him, knowing Apollo will go down as the most memorable occasions in their life. I can't find words that have been spoken in all the languages, of this world, to explain my loss. Thank you, Apollo. When I met you, you were called Maddox. I thought I was rescuing a dog, but I met my angel instead. I miss you so."

"Collierville Animal Services (CAS): Quite impressed with this place. Before we went to this animal shelter, we had expected to see the dogs and cats in a horrible & depressing environment especially after seeing many YouTube videos of various shelters. But boy-oh-boy!, we were quite surprised to see how clean and spacious this place is !! The dogs and cats are very well looked after. The staff and volunteers go to great lengths to look after these wonderful pets and care for them. All pets are medically treated and cared for as soon as they come in, especially if they have existing conditions. Hats off to all the staff here who work tirelessly and passionately look after these wonderful animals. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has plans to adopt dogs/kittens. By the way, the kittens here are so adorable and playful that you can spend your entire day watching them and not realize the time flying by !! ❤️❤️ EDIT: My wife and I were so impressed by this place, that we have started to volunteer at this place regularly for the last 3 months. This also gives the opportunity to see the amount of hard work and love that each staff member pours in for taking care of these poor animals which is why it really saddens me to see the negative reviews posted here regarding this place. To anybody who is new, please ignore these baseless negative reviews. They are absolutely NOT true !! This place deserves more than 5 stars !!!!!! One should be aware that these pets have had a bad history ! They have been either tortured, or abused, or abandoned by pet owners with "lifelong" experience !! So when these poor animals are rescued, CAS staff members pour their heart and soul in nursing these pets out of its physical injuries and mental trauma, and make them normal again. This requires a lot of patience and determination and to realize that they do this on a daily basis made us have immense respect for every staff member and volunteer at CAS !! So Yes, this place is very very very particular about the house and its environment to which the pet(s) will be adopted to !! What's wrong in doing that ?? On the contrary, it's a testament to how much they care for these rescued animals' future !! CAS will (and should indeed continue to) ask a hoard of questions to decide if the would-be-owners are qualified to receive the pet !! So it doesn't matter if one has had pets their whole life, he/she should answer all the questions. Because that's how CAS ensures that the pets will go to a good home where they would be loved and looked after. It's when shelters don't do this scrutiny, pets are abandoned by enthusiastic pet lovers whose enthusiasm fizzles out in a few days/weeks !! Any serious pet lover who genuinely loves their pets would agree with the procedure that CAS follows. HUGE shout-out to CAS Staff members we regularly interact with: SANDY, JIM, NICOLE, LILY and BRENDON. We have huge respect & love for Sandy !! Trust me, she is a wonder-woman!! She takes no nonsense from anybody and cares immensely for pets. God bless her! These people are doing God's work!! God bless all of them!!!!!"

"I had a very good experience with this shelter! I didn't feel like the process was overly cumbersome like some reviews are showing. In fact, I'm a little surprised now reading the reviews. I didn't receive any negative vibes at all. Everyone was kind and pleasant! On top of that, the shelter was amazingly clean! That is no easy feat for an animal shelter. Please understand, shelters that truly care for the animals are going to be strict on the adoption process, as they should be! You don't go through so much trouble caring for and socializing animals to sell them off as bait dogs. The animals in this shelter seem very well cared for, loved, and happy. There is no need to send them off to a worse life. True animal lovers will understand this. Too many pets are abused and neglected. If you dealt with that day in and day out, you'd be pretty selective too! All in all, this shelter seems great! No, we didn't get the 1st dog we came to meet. Yes, we had to bring our dogs up there twice to make sure everyone got along. But, now we have a great pup who slid into the family as if he'd been with us his whole life! Thanks so much CAS!"

"Staff was very friendly, helpful, and cared about the animals well being. Facility was clean and animals were obviously cared for. The dog we adopted, Raina, is such a sweet silly girl! We absolutely love her! Definately recommend adopting from this shelter. Thanks again!"
