"I started using Thompson Dunavant, now CBIZ, in 2015 and my accountant, Sherry Hodgson, told me then that it would cost about $1000 a year to calculate and prepare my income tax returns. They were fine at first but then a couple of years ago after I'd paid my $1000 they sent me another bill for $1000! and started addressing all correspondences to me as "Bob Hill"? I called Sherry and she assured me it was just a clerical error. But then it happened again so I asked to meet with her and try to find out what was wrong? Again I was assured it was nothing but another clerical problem but then I got another bill for $2000 for my last year with them and at that time she was insisting that my account was so much work it warranted the doubling of my price! When I asked how this could be, had anything changed she said no and could give no further explanation?! I refused to pay the extra $1000 but now I've got a charge from the IRS for year 2017 saying CBIZ hadn't entered some earnings from an IRA and I am now having to pay an additional $6492 with $555 of it in interest! I don’t know what’s going on there but this is not right!"
