"I hired Steve Anderson to represent me in my divorce in 2022. I was given his name to me by a friend of a friend at the business I work at. I meet Mr Anderson and had a brief discussion about the divorce issues and decide to hire him as my counsel without doing my due diligence to check him out. After several months of gathering information about my divorce and working with Mr Anderson, I discovered that I was having to help him prepare for my case more than I expected to. I found real estate appraisers because Mr Anderson didn't know any, which I found odd. I had to find private investigator, because Mr Anderson didn't know any. I had to collect all my bank statements, investment statements, checking accounts and go through and mark all transactions that Mr Anderson deemed necessary. I was working part time for Mr Anderson it seemed. I had to show Mr Anderson an app so he could download text messages off a cell phone. These are some of the issues I had to address while working with Mr Anderson. After trail started things got progressively worse. Mr Anderson was unable to find documents during the trial that he had brought to court and wanted to give the court as an exhibit. It was so bad that the other attorneys were laughing at him and the judge was holding his arms up in the air and staring at the ceiling. I felt like I had been stabbed in the stomach and left to suffer. The trial lasted six days and everyday was the same, not prepared, couldn't find his notes, stumbling around with questions that went no where. Mr Anderson could not seem to collect his thoughts and ask question that would lead somewhere. Mr Anderson would ask questions that the opposing counsel would get denied or the judge would yell at him for not knowing how to address the court. I offered to go back to his office and help him get organized and prepare for trial the next day, he said he would do better tomorrow. The court issued a very harsh judgement against me and I had to hire another lawyer to appeal the judgement. This was an additional cost that I would not have had to pay, if I would have had a competent attorney. Mr Anderson said the trial would cost approximately (x )amount and he charged almost twice that amount!! I would never hire him for any legal representation !! ."
