Red Fern Animal Shelter

Red Fern Animal Shelter is a nonprofit, no-kill shelter located in Weakley County, Tennessee. Founded in 2006 and officially incorporated in 2007, the shelter received its 501(c)(3) status from the IRS in 2009. The shelter is a primitive, outdoor facility that is dedicated to providing the best care possible for its animals.

At Red Fern Animal Shelter, every animal that comes through its doors is given the care and attention they deserve. Dogs and cats are vaccinated, tested, dewormed, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. They are also provided with flea/tick/heartworm preventatives and treated for any medical conditions they may have.

The shelter operates solely on the dedication of volunteers who give their time and love to the animals in need. With no paid staff and no full-time employees, everyone at Red Fern works tirelessly to ensure that each animal is well taken care of.

The shelter's co-founder, Anne, is a volunteer, animal caregiver, and Mighty Wielder of Tools. With a background in nursing, Anne is well-equipped to provide the care and attention that the animals at Red Fern need. She is dedicated to finding loving and committed guardians for each animal that comes through the shelter's doors.
