CAM Moving

"The conversation over the phone was very quick and should have been my 1st redflag. There was not enough questions asked or information provided to me by this business. I asked the owner of Cam Movers about his charges and he said that he charged a $50.00 deposit, a $85.00 service fee, and $150.00 an hour. The $50.00 he said would be deducted from the balance at the end. The price I was told to pay at the end was $180.00 per hour, instead of $150.00 per hour. Then he wanted to charge me 2 service fees, because he and his crew were tired and hungry and needed to comeback another day. He said be fair, be fair, and proceeded to say I was being argumentative because he was charging me things he never discussed with me. He wanted to charge for 2 additional movers, that he never advised me would cost more money. He dropped several items and broke several things and never offered to cover them. My daughters Barbie Doll house was broken and that's was just the start of things broken. He didn't bring several men as we had discussed, but 2 very young men who still needed to be trained and 1 very carefully watched. I had to ask him not to urinate in front of my newly built home, he had his hand in his pants in front of my 8 year old little girl. They stayed in my restroom way to long for comfort. My cellphone was used with my permission, 1 of them took pictures of himself in my bathroom, I feel violated and disgusted by the behavior of this moving company. Stuff was taken before I was and people went into my refrigerator without my permission with unclean hands, and then once I saw them, then the owner asked if it was okay. I was furious, but because I wanted to get through the move I said nothing. People were coming in and out my home as if they lived there and I felt a need to report it to the police department, because the owner took money from my dad, that was not negotiated on the front end, and my dad just wanted to get it over with and be a peacemaker. I felt robbed. Do not allow this company to continue to do business at the Better Business Bureau or in Tennessee, please. The 2 lady's he brought in at the end were better than him and should run far away. There was much more, but I didn't want to write this much, because I wanted the best for them, but my commitment is to mankind first and foremost. So you are warned!"

"It's hard to find a reputable moving company in Memphis. CAM movers was recommended to me by a colleague and I was extremely pleased with their work. They were on time, very professional and had me moved out of my old apartment and into the new one withing 2.5 hours. Pricing was also very reasonable. I don't plan on moving again anytime soon, however, if I do I will definitely use them again."

"I used this moving company twice. Both times were less than pleasant. The only reason he was used the second time was because he allowed me to keep high ticket items covered with his blankets (that's why I gave 2 stars vs 1). The first move had to be rescheduled because he overbooked himself. I ended up moving on my first Mother's Day. The entire day was spent moving! I asked for 3 men because I lived on the 3rd floor and there were some heavy items. Only two men showed. The owner being one. I rate him as being unprofessional because of all the unnecessary attempts at jokes that made me cringe. Moving along into the second move. He had a considerable less amount of things to actually move AND only had to put 1 item upstairs in house. The owner showed up with 4 people: 2men and 2boys. The younger boys were not allowed to move any heavy items yet he expected me to pay for the time of 4men. If everyone was moving accordingly there would have been no issues but I had to address the 2boys barely working and even had to mention to the owner that he and the other man were moving just as slow. This move took more than 3.5hrs and I literally moved out of storage into a house and again, it was half of the storage that he moved me into. The owner and I proceeded to the bill, he tells me that my bill is literally almost the same as my first move bill. The owner and I debated about it because the moves did not equate to one another. I personally believe he noticed the house I moved into and decided to let me know that his rates had changed from the first move. I would also like to note that even after I established I wasn't paying for the 2 boys, the boys were still coming in and out of the house. They did so much walking that one claimed to have lost his airpods in the home. From the unprofessional jokes to the leaving unbagged trash in my garbage bin...it was all too much. I moved last month and this move still bothers me. I would highly not recommend anyone to utilize this company moving forward. Thank you."

"On time! And even said if he was running late, he'd keep us posted. Customer service was very professional. Moved our furniture safely and quickly. Talk about a breath of fresh air...other companies were rude, overbooked and or overpriced. Go with CAM if you want honest, hard working movers!"
