About the Business
Hermitage Psychiatric Group, located at 5651 Frist Boulevard in Nashville, Tennessee, is a renowned institution specializing in mental health, psychiatry, and neurology. Unlike traditional psychiatric treatment, Hermitage Psychiatric Group offers holistic and organic psychiatric treatment, making them a unique provider in the field. They view mental health treatment as akin to lawn management, with mental illnesses being compared to a troubled lawn with unhealthy grass and uncontrollable weed growth.
The institution's approach focuses on treating the root causes of emotional and cognitive symptoms, rather than just masking them with medications. They believe in treating the "soil" rather than just the "plants," leading to more effective and sustainable improvements in patients' mental well-being.
In addition to psychiatric services, Hermitage Psychiatric Group's neurology department offers diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of neurological conditions. Their comprehensive services cater to a diverse array of conditions, ensuring that every patient receives personalized care and attention.

"Did I just read a post that said "this post is the reason people don't seek help"? Are you serious? If that's your mindset and you seriously think that then please go before me because you clearly need it! Reviews help direct people that could have PTSD, severe trama, paranoia and a litany of other problems AWAY from therapists that could do even more harm than good. Seeing as I suffer from all three I listed plus many more and seeing as I've had councler's that have had a "Hitler" complex that don't want to listen or hear you (there is a big difference between the two) but only want to tell you your faults and what you need to do regardless of what triggers they could happen because of the so called "treatment". So bring on the reviews as they are GREATLY NEEDED. And for the one who made the initial comment, you can go in blind if that's what you like but I'd like to have some warning before I get set off from an idiot. Nice talk."
"Dr.Chalko and Dr.Carpenter are great doctors and have helped me so much with my anxiety, depression, and ADHD! Great office staff also!"
"Quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had. My daughter was told she needed to stay with her old doctor by Shannon, the office manager, who then refused to allow her to make an appointment and then hung up on her. When I called to inquire what had happened that caused my daughter to be inconsolable, Shannon refused to give me her full name or an explanation and hung up on me as well. Apparently the psychiatrist finds it perfectly acceptable to allow his unprofessional front office staff to demean and reject patients seeking help. This office is a malpractice suit waiting to happen."
"I have been a long term client With this group of mental health specialists and have never had any difficulties with my clinician---Susan Carpenter PhD. She has offered me the time to vent about my problems, she has helped to put things in a more positive perspective. Her supportive therapy has helped keep me out of the hospital, for a very long time. I think the office is a soothing environment. The only suggestion I would have is to maintain a stable team of office members. Which after my appt today it looks like they are working towards! Very good place for psychiatric treatment!!!!!"
