"Caty is a part of the rare breed of therapists that make you feel heard, validated, challenged and enlightened all at once. I can tell she actually cares about my wellbeing rather than making me feel like I’m just a number. She has given me tangible tools that have help me on my healing journey and although she has remained professional through and through, I feel like I’ve known her for years. I’m incredibly grateful for the work we’ve done together and highly recommend her for anyone looking to grow in a comforting setting."
"I unequivocally recommend Helen Tarleton as a gifted, dedicated, compassionate therapist. Her breadth and depth of knowledge and experience allow her to be fully present and offer her clients creative and grounded guidance. I have had the honor to work with Helen, and her integrity, open mind, and elegant stewardship of everything she does create an environment of collaboration, accomplishment, and kindness. You couldn't be in better hands."
"First of all, Helen Tarleton listens. I have known Helen in both a personal and professional capacity. When I experience conflict in my life, she is the one I turn to: I know she will listen objectively and offer me the most caring and insightful response. I recommend her as a therapist 100+%."
"Nashville is so lucky to have Caty as their therapist! I only wish I lived closer so I could continue seeing her. Caty has helped me personally work through life transitions, relationships, breakups, gaining friendships and losing friendships, and most of all, has been an empathetic and listening ear through it all. I don’t naturally feel comfortable talking about myself for an hour at a time, but Caty makes it feel like a dialogue instead of a woe-is-me monologue. And THAT is why we love Caty. Couldn’t recommend more!"
"I saw Neva Murray twice recently and was extremely dissatisfied with my experience. From the start I was a little skeptical due to being a first-time therapy goer and after reading an existing review from a previous client. I consider myself level-headed, however, and recognize that there are always two sides to the story. With that in mind, I continued with my first session with Neva. During that session AND my subsequent session, Neva struggled to stay awake and would frequently close her eyes as though she was falling asleep. I returned for one additional session despite my initial reservations after the first appointment. I wanted to feel that I was giving therapy a fair chance and was hopeful it would positively impact my mental health and overall well-being. My short experience with Neva turned out to be very frustrating. I sought a therapeutic space where I could openly express myself and Neva’s lack of engagement and frequent bouts of sleepiness left me feeling unheard and invalidated. In addition, Neva and I never established my goals for therapy in any detail. She did not offer me any ways to work through the challenges that were bringing me in and in fact, was quick to let me know that “therapists don’t give advice.” While therapists may not provide direct solutions, expressing that "therapists don't give advice" without offering alternative means of support came off as very dismissive. Given Neva’s limited engagement, times that she would close her eyes while I was talking, and a reluctance to provide any guidance whatsoever, I felt the $200 per hour fee for each session was disproportionately steep. I obviously had no issue paying that price, but I expected the quality and effectiveness of her services to be more reflective of that cost. Simply, it was not. I strongly caution those considering Neva’s services to consider their options and prioritize finding a therapist who can offer the attentiveness and engagement needed for a beneficial therapeutic experience."
