"My mother has had a horrible experience with this school. She got a ticket and decided to pay for it instead of fighting it in court. She was ordered to take a defensive driving class but she is not good with technology so I scheduled it for her. The first time they did not send use the code for the class till after it was over. Then weeks later we tried again, this time we had a code, but this time the class never started. I can only imagine the amount of people that this could be happening to but they don't have the technical no how to know it's not their fault. If possible I am going to try and get my mom her money back. When I signed up for the class I wondered why they had a no returns under no circumstances but know I know."
"0/10 experience 9/10 don’t recommend . I went this summer before school the classroom is absolutely freezing to the point where it’s hard to focus. The instructors talk about nonsense for a majority of the class. They brought a bunch of puppies into the classroom to advertise for a shelter for almost two hours while they pooped and peed in the classroom. They didn’t really teach anything you can’t learn on your own or from the book used for your permit. Also the funeral home visit was an absolute bummer where he basically explained how devastating it was for a parent to lose their child in a car crash (obviously). I would def tell parents to look into alternatives cause nothing they taught in this class is worth $625."
"Well I am glad they offer something like this for insurance discount purposes but this is not a quick process. We started in August with the 4 day class, did 8 one hr driving lessons but it was hard to find available times after school and on weekends. I am sure the number of lesson times to teacher ratio was lacking but just wasnt expecting to start Aug 5th and finish Oct 25th with last lesson. Overall, if your patient, everyone was nice and process was easy but it took a lot longer for my daughter to get her license than anticipated. After the road test you also wait 10 business days to get your license."
"Absolutely garbage class. Do not take this class!! There are many scheme-y contract statements that CHARGE FEES and DON’T ALLOW REFUNDS. You can’t even drive until after 30 hours of dreadfully long classtime with horrible instructors who ramble the whole time about things completely unrelated to driving. I didn’t learn anything until 4 hours into the first class! Not one person in the class wanted to be there. They completely disrespected me and screamed at me by the end while I was being quiet and respectful to the infamous lady in all these reviews (Mrs. Maxwell) and they hold the kid’s phones hostage for 8 hours and power-trip the whole time. Don’t take this class. Also especially horrible for the $625 price tag! P.S. In response to the owner: I have a recording of the lady screaming at me. My brother also has a recording of her, while he was on the phone with me. (I had AirPods on.) Seems like a common trend that instructors love yelling at students, hence the other reviews. Please read the NEGATIVE reviews. They’re all very similar, and go back even 4 years. The reason why I wasn’t responding to her when she told me to put away my phone, in the office, was because my brother told me to ignore her. He said she has no right to yell at me. At this overpriced “driving” class; not a daycare or public school! I only had my phone out during break-time to contact my parent. Do not waste your money at Maxwell driving school."
"Horrible. Obviously Mr Maxwell is not there as the new owners and I had major issues. First, no golf cart obstacle course as advertised! Second, your driving lessons are separate and they schedule you a month out from the classes ! Our driver was late and rude! The co owners were unprofessional ( also the drivers) and unpleasant to my son as well as myself. When I called to complain concerning the rudeness of the late driver they confronted my son about it. What they promise on the website and what they deliver are not the same. I was told that because of our distance that they would schedule the simulators and driving on the same day. I spoke to Michelle to verify this, I paid and called as she TOLD ME to schedule. She specifically said do not schedule on website, let me schedule for you so you won’t have to drive here several times. No one called me back. Called again and Michelle said no she couldn’t do that? She was short handed It was a matter of days. So I had to make several trips to only be treated like is was a nuisance that we showed up for the driving lessons ON TIME! The whole golf cart/ driving obstacle course as advertised- too short handed, Go somewhere else! There are cheaper, better driving courses in Memphis! I should have went with another company. My niece and nephew were going to sign up here! Not anymore. I should have read these reviews."
