At Compass Hickory Hill, our focus is on providing excellent teaching, fostering strong moral character, and offering opportunities for personal growth. We aim to equip our students with the tools they need for success in college and beyond. As a charter school, we have the flexibility to select a curriculum that best meets the needs of our students.
For grades K-5, we offer a curriculum that includes CKLA English, Ready Math, Inspire Science, and Studies Weekly Social Studies. For grades 6-8, students engage with Wit & Wisdom English, Ready Math, iScience, and McGraw Hill Social Studies. Additionally, all grades participate in Spark P.E. and Flex Art classes.
We believe that a well-rounded education goes beyond academics, which is why we provide extracurricular activities such as Art, Physical Education, and Student Guidance classes. Classical ballet classes are also offered through Ballet Memphis for our 3rd - 8th grade students.
To support our families, we offer aftercare services for a minimal charge, although this service is currently on hold due to Covid-19. Our dedicated teachers are passionate about preparing Memphis youth for success, both academically and in character development. Through service-learning projects, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world contexts, reinforcing their understanding and giving their learning meaningful purpose.
