Reviews of Mark Their Words...Therapy Services
"I have been very happy with our experience at MTW The therapist are upfront and communicate well what their expectations are and their plan of action towards therapy . I appreciate that thy are honest and set reasonable goals for my kido. Very happy with the progress my daughter is showing ."
"We loved this place AT FIRST. But they have been very unorganized when it comes to scheduling/administration. They used to have a front dest admin and now they are utilizing their therapist for the admin part and the owner and the lady that handles the referrals are super disrespectful, they drop my daughter from ABA for no reason. For me the therapist are great and they treat my kids well and loved them but the administration part is horrendous."
"I worked here from November 9th to Jan 8 however I only worked from nov 9th through Dec 15 because I was on Christmas vacation from Dec 16-Jan 8th. When I got hired they were aware that I would be gone that long and stated that it was okay and someone would be able to see my kids during that time. Unfortunately the person that was to cover my kids had no option but the leave the company due to the environment in the office (I do not blame them one bit because anyone would have left) I then got a call that my OT was leaving MTW after the holidays, therefore I would have no supervising OT, which legally I need because I’m a COTA new grad, and i was also told it took them months to find the one they had, so I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to find a new job… the owner did not like the idea of me putting “I however have to leave MTW due to no supervising OT” on my resume and asked it be taken off cause it’s an inaccurate statement…her words…because they hired a new OT, so I said of course I’ll remove the sentence and thank you for letting me know you found someone…even though she never told me I MIGHT be out a job if they couldn’t find someone which I thought was human decency but whateverrrr, come to find out that OT wasn’t even licensed in the state of TN so she legally couldn’t supervise me and another COTA…do believe the parents didn’t get charged for those visits…buttt the other COTA that had been seeing kids under this “new OT” is now not legally allowed to see kids (once they found out the new OT didn’t have a license..because the COTA called state.. he stopped seeing kids immediately!) soooo I was lied too! At this point I’m over the company and its owner and that’s not even the worse of it because I didn’t get paid on time once or correctly! The times x2 1/2 I got paid I was underpaid by 25 hours because I “didn’t approve my 33 hour week on the app “( I worked 33 hours nov 9-15 then 70 hours 16-1) but somehow I got paid for 78 hours? Where did you get that number if I only approved my 70 hour weeks? Then when I asked about the other 25 hours she said it would get direct deposited to me on a Friday so I thought I’d get it Friday…no.. but see I asked if it takes a few days to go through and the owner and I quote told me “this is highly inappropriate, merry Christmas “!!! I’m sorry but I have bills to pay so I don’t care if it’s the 23 (she also said I was highly inappropriate for texting her on Christmas Eve which it was not) you should pay your employees on any date, I do not care if it’s a holiday orrrr at least answer their questions!!!!! Then the last paycheck I got ( btw got paid on the 8th instead of the first with no text saying “hey pay will be late or in the form of a check”… I even texted and she never replied) she took 319$ dollars out under “miscellaneous”, texted her and asked what’s is this and she said they over paid me my last paycheck! Which they did not because I was missing 25 HOURS! So she then said they over paid me the 25 hours and gave me 197$ more then they should have not 319$ so she paid me back 127$ out of the 319$! There is more I just can’t write it all cause this is already a book but do not work here! I loved the kids and I hate that the place is falling apart only for them! I loved them all and miss them so much! Hopefully one day I can work back in peds! Also most of the staff were great aka why 6 left in the span of a month! Also don’t let her fool you SOME put in their 2 weeks and then were fired the next day… Chris made a review too which is accurate if you’d like to see more! Also got fired the day I came back in on Monday the 8th. Tried to upload photos but it wouldn't let me unfortunately."
"I served as the Clinical Director of Operations from October to December 2023, and my enthusiasm for the position stemmed from the chance to transform a struggling business into one that could realize its full potential—a truly unique opportunity. Firstly, I want to assure everyone that Maury takes excellent care of the tortoise, so there's no need for concern on that front. I've personally observed him diligently feeding and soaking it in a tub of water. However, the clinic faces more significant challenges related to the treatment of staff by the owner. In my brief tenure, I both witnessed and experienced this detrimental treatment. A toxic environment originating from the top can be demoralizing, and it was disheartening to see staff consistently belittled and subjected to unprofessional behavior. Regrettably, this behavior is not new; it's been a recurring issue since at least 2017, as evident from online reviews. This toxic environment has contributed to a high turnover of therapists, exemplified by the mass departure in December 2023. Many therapists have found more supportive environments in other clinics in the area, where they are now thriving. For parents taking their kids to MTW, I strongly recommend being present in the treatment rooms, asking questions of therapists, and actively participating in your child's care. The clinic's current setup for therapists is not conducive to optimal therapy. An example is the lack of dedicated time for documentation. With therapists handling a significant number of children each day, they often find themselves documenting during a child's session, leading to potential disruptions in therapeutic time. This situation is not ideal and can impact the quality of care. I have also had to engage in damage control over statements made by the owner in the presence of parents and children. While I won't delve into specific details, previous reviews may shed light on these issues. For the clinic to thrive in the long run, a crucial step is for the owner to step down from operations and distance themselves from the clinic. Without this change, the clinic is likely to continue facing a cycle of high turnover, low staff morale, and challenges for therapists, hindering its overall success."
"This company keeps a tortoise in their office, presumably for the clients to enjoy. However, they are neglecting this tortoise by keeping it in a small tank, not doing adequate soaking, not feeding it correctly, and refusing to get info necessary to properly care for the animal. Attempts to speak to them about it have been ignored and the tortoise is living in inhumane conditions. If they are willing to do this to a living animal I will never return and let my child be exposed to humans treating animals abusively. Animal control should be contacted."
