"The customer service is horrible. I am 33 weeks pregnant and they didn’t even schedule me for a glucose test. This is my second child. I am not getting checked properly and when I do try to make another appointment, they get upset. Overall my experience have been horrible while being pregnant. I would not recommend him or his team"
"Ima try to keep this short. All in all, Dr Richard will answer any questions you ask however I do not believe he is good for any first time moms and mothers who can’t speak up for themselves. If you are on kid #3 and you know what appointments should look like and you know how it goes then he might work out. When they drew blood to find out the gender, they had lost the blood I gave and when I told Dr Richard, he seemed very concerned and like he was gonna find out what happened but then I never heard anything after that. When in the hospital Dr Richard asked me if I had my epidural yet because he was gonna check and see how far I had progressed. I answered no and asked will it hurt? He shrugged his shoulders and said it shouldn’t. The pain I felt was maybe a step down from the labor pains I felt later on which is fine, I just wish I could have prepared myself for that type of pain. Another time he looked to feel my water so he could break it and he said “I don’t feel your water but I know I’m in the right spot” then proceeded to try and break it which only made me bleed. Then 5 hours later he checked me again but the nurse didn’t have the pokey thing so he sat there with his fingers in me for a good 2 mins while she went to get one, seemed like it was less convenient for him to find the spot again than it was for me to sit there uncomfortable like that avoiding eye contact. Talk about awkward but he did break my water correctly that time. I was having issues with my blood pressure rising and my babies heart rate falling. They called Dr Richard to come evaluate me which at that time he asked about a c-section since he was already there, I declined as it seemed to be offered for convenience and not necessity. The following morning I was told by a nurse that my cervix was still swollen so we would have to do a c-section. I did not know it was swollen to begin with otherwise I would have done it the night prior when I was first asked. My Epidural ended up failing towards the end so it would have saved me a lot of pain had I known the full story when I was asked the first time. He lost privileges at St Thomas which is where I wanted to give birth at and I was not informed by the office, the hospital told me when I went in for throwing up so much. I found that out 2 weeks before I was due. I also went from 105 pounds down to about 89 pounds my first trimester from throwing up so much. I was not given a pump to help but rather a cocktail of medicines that ultimately didn’t help. I feel as if my sickness passed on its own and not because Dr. Richard cared enough to get me in a place that I could at least keep my weight. The ER cared more. All in all am I traumatized from the experience? No. However there are too many red flags to ignore and 7 months later I felt like I still had to write this review. Note to add, I never went for my postpartum check up with him after this experience."
"I thought Dr. Richard was a good doctor until it came time to deliver. He never came to check on me while I was in labor. Then he finally came in once it was time to push. I wish the nurse would have delivered my baby instead of him. He was rushing me the whole time and kept looking at his watch like he had somewhere more important to be. He also jerked my placenta from my body which caused me hemorrhaging he almost killed me. If it wasn't for my sister, I would have died.I wouldn't let this man deliver puppies."
"I had a great experience with him with my first child until it was time to deliver and neither him or Dr.Carter showed up for delivery. After that any time I had concerns I was always told to come in and received minimum care. This second baby, I had expressed to them that I I had an infection and needed to be treated…NOTHING! Ignored! Then I started contracting at 5 months…prescribed Motrin. I ended up having to give birth to my child early. Dr.Richard wasn’t considerate of my mental state and ridiculed me for how I felt. My child was alive when she was inside of me but died right when I pushed her out. By far the worst experience of my life. He stated that the miscarriage was more than likely due to infection of the placenta …which again I had expressed during prenatal visits. I will NOT be back! It’s almost as if he is tired of his job."
