Dayspring Academy

"So, our children were having trouble on public school fitting in and, as they have always just been a bit different. We were getting no help from the administration at all, and were desperate. We found DSA and things fell together like they were literally a Godsend. After enrolling at DSA, our kids were excited and energized to go to school each day like we haven't seen in years. Fast forward almost a month, and we during a regularly scheduled parent teach conference we find out there had been a few issues the first week they were there. Now, considering this is the first we had heard in a month, to say we were surprised and shocked was to say the least. Instead of dealing with the parents or notifying us, they took our two minor children into a meeting and gave them an ultimatum/threat of "fix it or you will be expelled " and made no effort to notify us until the following WEEK. We immediately let the administration know we would work their doctors on getting some things sorted out, and we're very transparent with how we were actively attempting to get this sorted out. We got with their doctors and had them send over letters to the school explaining the steps we were taking, etc. Fast forward 3 weeks and we have some testing setup and plans in the work to help rectifu these issues, and then found out that again, a WEEK AGO, there was an incident , and they were now expelled. The teachers seemed incredibly nice, and helpful, and selfless with their time and attempts to help. But the administration was much less so. We are awaiting confirmation but it is mostly a foregone conclusion that our twins are high functioning, very intelligent, but on the Spectrum somehow. Despite knowing all this, they were expelled from the school because it was basically just too hard to POSSIBLY even make any adjustments on their side at all. So please know what you are getting into if your child is even the slightest bit different, or has any challenges at all (such as personal space challenges). Per their mission statement they are there to serve your family using Christian beliefs, unless that requires understanding of someone different or needing a slight bit of extra help."

The education can't be beat, the Spiritual direction is the perfect balance to lead your child down the right path, but does not teach any doctrine as most schools do, and the peace you have knowing your child is loved, cared for, and safe while there is the best feeling.
