Highland Rim Headstart

Highland Rim Headstart is a comprehensive institution located in Erin, Tennessee, dedicated to providing high-quality services to educate children, empower families, and engage communities. Our mission is to support families with preschool-age children living at or below the poverty level, or considered "at risk," by offering crucial services such as meals, educational opportunities, and family support, all at no cost to participating families.

We believe in the importance of early childhood education and work closely with families to advocate for necessary services and resources for children with disabilities. Our teachers create developmentally appropriate learning environments that focus on language development, literacy skills, and mathematics knowledge, all crucial for school readiness. We use research-based curriculums and assessments to ensure each child's individual needs are met.

At Highland Rim Headstart, we understand the importance of social and emotional development in young children. We use tools like TABS to identify temperament and self-regulation problems that may indicate developmental delays. We also focus on perceptual, motor, and physical development, including gross and fine motor skills, as well as health, safety, and nutrition.

Our institution is committed to promoting oral health care and preventative medical and dental services for children and families.
