Dr. Mai Uyen T. Tran, DDS 1360 Burton Drive, Vacaville, CA 95687

"I was very disappointed with this office. Scheduling was super easy. I was able to go online and request an appointment, and received an email back within the hour. I filled out all of the forms well in advance with our insurance information for our 3 youngest kids to be seen. I received several text messages to confirm the appointment, which was super convenient. I was excited to bring the kids in since everything seemed to check out wonderfully up until this point. I take all 3 kids out of 3 different schools to be here on time for their appointments. I fill out the forms that are needed to be done in office before their appts, and while reading the financial agreement, I make sure to confirm that any out of pocket for their visits will be discussed with me prior to actually doing the treatment. Ellen, who works at the front, says, "Oh actually, you do have out of pocket for today's visit." I ask, "Why is that? I looked up our insurance and it shows that preventative visits are covered at 100%." She wasn't sure and said that she had to look into this further. When she pulls up our insurance, she can see that our coverage is different through their office since they are a Premier provider through Delta (which increases the charge for each service, while the insurance coverage goes down---Increasing our out of pocket). I'm okay with all of that..I understand that going to a specialist is going to cost more, and shouldn't be required to discount the fees for their services that they provide. What I am not okay with, is being told AT their first appt that I am going to have over $230 out of pocket, and not receiving a phone call ahead of time. Then having Ellen totally throw her team under the bus saying, "I feel so bad. If it was me that had checked your insurance and put together their treatment plan, then I would have emailed the information to you so you know ahead of time." Then proceeded to repeat that it wasn't HER that messed up and failed to inform me ahead of time. I had to spend almost an hour driving to 3 different schools to pick up the kids to get them to their appt in time, and then being informed of this at the time of their visit, and not prior to coming in. To top it all off, I thought that I was booking an appt with Dr. Mai Tran (which would be worth the $230 for 3 kids), and find out while IN OFFICE, that my kids are going to see Dr. Christina (or Kristina). Who is this doctor? Why would I pay all of this money out of pocket when this provider is nowhere on the website, and I don't know their credentials at all. Sorry, but this is all inefficient for a dental office. Learn how to work together, as a TEAM, and be more efficient at your job. Parents want the best for their kids, and deserve to know what the cost may be ahead of time, and which provider will be seeing their children."

"Dr. Tran has been treating my children for a year and half now. Her office is super kid friendly and fun. Her entire staff is incredibly cheerful and positive and make the anxiety of going to the dentist melt away. Dr. Tran personally answered a phone call at 10:30 pm on a Saturday night to help us with a tooth emergency, and I was blown away with her compassion and care for my child during her personal, family time. She even looked at pictures I sent to help determine next steps. It's so rare to find such extraordinary care and service these days, you will not be disappointed with Dr. Tran!"
