"I saw Tara Perkins today and let me tell you, she was INCREDIBLE! She listened to all of my concerns, gave me advice and had the absolute best bedside manner. She listened with care, spent time with me and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I am SO glad I found her!!"
"Dr. Cavasin will not listen to you or your birth plan. She has terrible impersonal bedside manners, never came back to see us after I had an induced vaginal delivered to a healthy baby that weighed two pounds less than predicted. Dr. Cavasin hounded us to have a c-section and seemed displeased with my decision to induce rather than to have a c-section. Her NP even suggested to have a c-section for superficial reasons. Dr. Cavasin will just set up an unwanted c-section appointment for you without letting you know in advance and if that doesn't work there is always another way. I had one high blood pressure reading in the office and was re-tested with the same blood pressure cuff that may have been faulty to begin with. Leading to Dr. Cavasin to admit me to the hospital for observation. My blood pressure was normal unless Dr. Cavasin was in the room. I felt like I had to constantly reaffirm my wishes to not undergo a c-section. If you want to experience an uphill battle with your OB during your pregnancy than Dr. Cavasin is the doctor and nursing staff for you. The staff does not communicate well and will not respect your birth plan. Because this is YOUR BIRTH and you should feel EMPOWERED to proceed as you want to. We understand that an URGENT medical need may lead to a c-section but if that is not what I want than so be it. The reason was that I was having a "FAT" baby per Dr. Cavasin (Thanks for calling my baby fat btw). Well the baby was 2 pound less than predicted and healthy. We rushed into an induction bc we had partial reason to believe the doctor but wanted to avoid a c-section due to long recovery time and other undisclosed risks. With a vaginal delivery we were advised shoulder dystocia was a risk if baby was too big but that was minimal compared to a c-section."
"Dr. Cavasin is smart, seems great at first but was extremly negligent; with my health, privacy, treatment/beside manner. I don't think I'll ever be the same after her surgery.. she even asked if she should "take it all out" during a laparoscopy and myomectomy. She billed me while in my hospital stay for that surgery for a test she admitted she "never got to the lab, so don't pay for it if it's on your bill" which was a nice sentiment. But now her office says I'm sent to collections over it and they wouldn't see me during an emergency! I've been with this office on/off since my birth! No joke... just, extremely wrong. She also disclosed VERY personal information in front of associations. Very dissapointed in her and the medical office for this breech of conduct. I will be writing her and the medical board. Hers and the office's communication and follow through skills- just aren't there (on exception for Anna, who's been there when I saw Dr Rice). Be safe ladies."
"Why isn’t there a 0- star rating? First off I WILL never step foot back in this office. My first pregnancy ever and I felt so uncomfortable and had ANXIETY every time I came for a visit. From the time she walks in she’s already writing out the next appointment and doesn’t even talk to me about ANYTHING. Not to mention how much trauma I’ve had hearing things about my baby not growing right & she tells me not to worry. It’s not a place I’d ever pick if it was the only place left on this earth. I switched to st.Thomas & 100/100 BEST decision I’ve EVER made. She doesn’t care nor listen when I tell her important things. So glad I left when I did. P.s I was induced at 39 weeks when my NEW OB doctor said dr.cavisan should’ve delivered me at 34 weeks. BE AWARE AS POSSIBLE."
"She was my first choice because I wanted to deliver at Hendersonville Hospital's new birth center and this was also the hospital that I was born at. The first red flag was when the nurse was asking the family history questionnaire and I was unfamiliar with one of the genetic abnormalities. I asked her what it was and she said she did not know. She never asked anyone, just continued with the questionnaire. When I met with the doctor she seemed very nice at first, until I told her I had a genetic abnormality in my brain stem that has not caused any problems and I was not having any issues in my pregnancy. She insisted on doing an MRI while I was pregnant regardless of the fact that I insisted I wanted to wait until after the pregnancy to have one since I read that they can be potentially dangerous to fetuses. She then began to try and make me feel bad for not doing this and said that I could kill myself and my unborn baby if I did not have it checked periodically throughout the pregnancy. She continued to push her point even through me breaking down. Needless to say, I decided to switch doctors after complaining to HR about her attitude and the things that were said to me. My daughter is now almost one year and we are both very healthy. My new doctor respected my wishes and never tried to make me feel bad for wanting to protect my unborn baby. I wish I had a better expierence here, but I wanted to share my story because mothers should never feel bullied for trying to do the best thing for their child."
