"Our favorite place. We were among first customers when they opened. I am happy to see Karas thriving. Our favorite dishes is beef and chicken kabob that comes with platter -rice, pickled veggies and bread. Blini is also very delicious, also my childhood lemonade with tarragon or pear lemonade are the best! Very nicely located just across the Americana and they have very cozy tables outside with nice views."
"Karas was recommended to us by a friend. We stoped by for a dinner while visiting LA/Glendale and had very good time. The weather was excellent and we chose to sit outside. Once we ordered the food, it came out pretty quickly without a delay. Dishes we got were mostly delicious. We liked everything we ordered. The waitress was very nice and pleasant. Prices are good too. All in all excellent experience."
"Homey Armenian spot with delicious food. Came here for a birthday lunch of about 20 people and it was well organized. I parked a couple of blocks away for free and you can also park at the mall (not Americana) for free. Complimentary bread was provided. We had the salad followed by platters with an array of meats. Everything was well seasoned and juicy. I particularly liked the beef kebabs. We had pizzas too (which are vegetarian) and I liked those as well. We tried Georgian lemonade, which came in a bright green color and was very sweet. They do have wine and beer. We ended with a soufflé and baklava-cake hybrid with vanilla ice cream for dessert. We had a lot of leftovers and they provided to-go containers at the end of the meal."
"5/11/2023 Visit We all wanted something different for dinner: the teen was craving pizza, I wanted Persian + my sister was flexible but in the mood for American BBQ. We picked Karas, foremost + first, because it was the closest restaurant with good reviews for pizza + a range of items that could satisfy my tastes. My sister was willing to go the BBQ spot next door, if she didn't find something on Karas's menu. Thanks to their wood-fired oven, we were beyond delighted that Karas completely fulfilled each of our preferences! The teen is particular about his pizza + loved every bite. My wood-fired Beef BBQ with rice, roasted peppers + a side salad of thinly sliced almost-pickled tomatoes, peppers + onions in a light vinaigrette was fantastic! I could eat that side salad every day. The Pork Ribs my sister ordered were so well-seasoned, tender, meaty + delicious that she didn't miss the bbq sauce! She subbed mashed potatoes (good texture + well-seasoned), but they accidentally gave her the fire-roasted potatoes so we got to try both. Unfortunately, the fire-roasted potatoes weren't as flavorful as the other sides; they lacked the tenderness + moisture of an oven-roasted or baked potato. The portions are generous so when I reheated leftovers the next day, I seasoned + cooked them longer to get the desired tenderness. Our server, Baglan was attentive + so kind! He gave us a complimentary Kazbegi Pear "lemonade" from Kazakhstan to try. It was a lovely + refreshing carbonated drink but, as he explained, is not a citrusy-based beverage we typically think of as a lemonade. They also served a bread basket with a flat lavash-style bread + fluffier bread. Karas will be at the top of our list for our next visit!"
"Interesting menu items. They were very busy, so service was slow, but expected. Took a long time to even see a waiter, although food arrived quicker than we anticipated. I was a bit confused on their version of bbq. It was flavorful none the less. The pizza is pretty good, almost a must have, though wasn't the best wood stone oven pizza in the area. The Beef Lula was my favorite, soft and flavorful until the last bite. Everything else was pretty average. Outside seating is great to people watch and is recommended. They have heat lamps for those cold days."
